Chapter 5 Secrets
Keira didn’t have anything to wear. She contemplated this whilst Orlando drove her back to the hotel. Keira planned on going for a swim and then tomorrow she would go shopping for a new dress.
“Thank-you Orlando. Today was beautiful. I really enjoyed it.” Orlando noticed the sincerity in her voice.
“I’m glad you liked it. I had so much fun today. I’m really glad I met you.”
Keira proceeded inside to get changed. As she was changing she began to think. She sat on the edge of her bed in her t-shirt and bikini bottoms. Why? Why was she falling for a man she only just met? The connection they shared felt so right but she wasn’t sure whether he felt it too. Since Ed had left she had been feeling vulnerable. She didn’t want to feel that pain again. Not the hurt of being rejected, not the pain of loving someone who can’t return your love because they just don’t feel it. Keira began to cry. Charlie didn’t like to see his owner of seven years crying. He began to howl loudly. Orlando heard the howling and came running to the door of her hotel room. He used the second key that Keira had given him to let himself in and rushed inside. Shocked at the scene that followed, Orlando couldn’t believe that this girl was a bouncing ball of energy only thirty minutes ago.
“Keira are you okay? It’s only me, Orlando.” Startled at his voice she answered hesitantly not even hearing him come in.
“I am . . . I am fine, Thanks Orlando. I didn’t even hear you come in.” She forced a half-hearted laugh.
“Would you like to talk about it? I am willing to listen and my shoulder is open if you just want to cry on it.”
“Um, I’m sorry Orlando. I am not ready to share this with you. I know you can tell your secrets freely but I can’t. Please don’t be offended.”
“I’m not offended at all. We all have our secrets. I want you to know Keira, that when you need someone to talk to, I am always ready to listen.” Orlando paused, “Whenever you need me to.”
“Thank-you, but right know I would like to go for a swim. Would you like to come?” She didn’t understand why but she felt safe with Orlando. She felt as though she needed him.
“Ah, I don’t know. I was thinking about catching up on some sleep.” As soon as he said the words, Orlando regretted it.
“That’s okay Orlando, if you need time to yourself all you have to do is say so. Okay?”
Orlando grabbed Keira’s shoulders and held her at his gaze, looking deeply into her eyes. In his sincerest voice possible he said, “Keira, I would like to come swimming with you that is if the offer is still available.”
“Meet back here in fifteen minutes.” As Orlando walked from her bedroom door, Keira rushed to his side grabbing his arm. He turned around and looked at her, surprised as she leant in and kissed him on the cheek. “Thank-you,” was all she said.
Keira turned around and begun to change into her bikini top as Orlando left.

thanks im glad you liked it here's the next chapter
Chapter 6 Water Games
Before she changed, Keira fed Charlie and played with him. She was running around the living room with a ball at her feet playing soccer against him, every now and again letting him have the ball. It wasn’t until Orlando arrived that she noticed how long she had been playing with Charlie. He knocked on the door and Keira opened it. What stood before her took her breath away. Orlando stood at her door in a pair of board shorts and a cap. His chiseled muscular chest out in the open so that Bianca didn’t have to attempt to sneak looks. It was everything it promised to be.
“I brushed my hair so you can take the cap if you want it.” Orlando smirked. He analysed Keira and notice she was still wearing the same clothes as earlier. Her pink singlet top, bikini bottoms and his own blue beanie. “You’re not changed. We don’t have to go if you don’t want to”
“Don’t even think about it Bloom, you’re not getting out of this one. I was playing with Charlie and then just time got away from me. Come in, sit down make yourself at home and I’ll be dressed in 2 minutes.” Keira went out of the room to change. Orlando was always an animal person. He found the ball that Keira was playing with earlier. He threw it across the room and Charlie bounded to collect it. As he brought it back he was eager for Orlando to throw the ball again. This game continued for almost half an hour. When Orlando had realized how much time had elapsed he went to check on Keira.
“Keira, is everything okay? It’s just you been in there for half an hour.”
“Um, yeah well I’m having some difficulty with this stupid bikini top. Could you possible give me a hand?” Orlando opened the door. He was still, almost as though he was a statue carved from stone. Her back was facing him, but it didn’t matter, she was still beautiful. The curves along her neck, shoulders and back were perfect to him. She had her hair swept up in a messy bun to keep it out of the way. When Orlando found his feet, and snapped back to reality after a few minutes, he tied her bikini top up. “Thank-you, you ready to go?” Orlando mumbled a yes and they walked downstairs to the pool. As they walked, Keira noticed the distance between them, the silence was disturbing. The tension that existed was intense. Keira knew immediately that something was wrong.
Keira noticed that the pool deck was deserted when they arrived. Orlando didn’t speak to Keira at all. He put his cap and towel on a deck chair and dived straight into the pool. As Orlando surfaced Keira began to yell at him.
“Orlando! If you don’t want to spend time with me all you have to do is say so. I’d prefer it if you tell rather than ignore the freaking problem.” She suddenly lowered her voice. “If I hurt you, it’s not what I wanted.” Keira turned around and sat down at her deckchair. She began to rub suntan lotion all over her arms, neck and chest. She attempted to do her back, but she couldn’t reach. She didn’t want to ask Orlando because that would mean she would give in, admitting that she was wrong. And she knew she wasn’t. Keira gave up, putting the suntan lotion back in her bag and lay down on her stomach. She felt droplets of water on her back, and then a pair of hands, soft yet rugged rubbing lotion on the small of her back. Startled she sat up to find Orlando’s face in a state of depression.
“I’m sorry. I was rude and immature. No, you didn’t hurt me and yes, I do want to spend time with you. I enjoy this,” Orlando paused, “this friendship we have. I will try better in the future not to harm it with my foolish actions.”
“Bloody hell Orlando! You scared the sh*t out of me! I’m sorry too. I overreacted. Come here.” Keira leant over and gave Orlando a hug, they lingered both not wanting to let go, both knowing the consequences of their actions if they didn’t let go. Unexpectedly Orlando grabbed Keira around the waist. He slung her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. He went to the side of the pool, teasing Keira to see her squirm. He enjoyed having control over her.
“No! Orlando! Please don’t!”
“You’re right I shouldn’t.” Orlando’s voice was patronizing. As he began to release her Keira mumbled a thank you. But before she said anything more she was enveloped in the cool water rushing over as she was dropped into the water.
“DAMN YOU ORLANDO!” she screamed as she surfaced and began to splash him. The water games continued until it became to dark and cold to play anymore.
“Thanks again Orlando. What time are you picking me up tomorrow?”
“Is 7.30 okay?”
“Brilliant, see you then. Oh where are we going? I mean what do I wear? Casual wear? Formal wear?”
“We’re going to dinner and then somewhere exciting, that’s all you’re getting.”
“Okay but where?” Orlando refused to tell the pleading Keira where he was taking her. He leaned in so that their bodies touched. She could feel his breath below her earlobe.
“If I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise. And I really want his to be a surprise for you so please don’t ask anymore.” His voice was deep, sensitive and seductive. She nodded silently as she felt something inside her stomach twinge. Actually she thought it was lower than her stomach.
Enjoy?

Chapter 7 An Angel
Keira had spent the entire day shopping. Throughout the whole day she couldn’t find anything that she liked. She was prepared to go back to the hotel and cancel on Orlando, but she remembered how happy he was that she accepted his dinner invitation. The thought of canceling on him was not an option. It was then that Keira found the perfect dress. It was a black strapless cocktail dress, trimmed in hot pink. The element Keira like most was the fact that it moved, like a bell when she did. It was both fitted at the top, and at the bottom it flowed. When she tried it on Keira fell in love with it. The shop assistant brought out a pair of shoes that match perfectly and Keira bought the set. As she headed back to her hotel room, Keira grabbed a cup of coffee at the downstairs café.
Keira went to shower and whilst showering began to think. She didn’t understand why, but her day wasn’t complete. She felt different, like a piece of her was missing in everything she did. She was contemplating and contrasting between both today’s feelings and yesterday’s. She found that there was only one difference. Orlando. She had not yet seen Orlando and concluded that it was for that reason she wasn’t feeling complete.
Orlando slept in late, later than usual, and when he woke up it was almost 11am. He had breakfast and picked up his clothes from his agent’s office. When he arrived back at the hotel he noticed that he wasn’t as happy and bubbly as he was yesterday. After much judgment he decided it was because he hadn’t seen Keira. It didn’t matter though, he would see her tonight.
Keira curled her hair so that it was in perfectly tousled ringlets and put on her make-up. She didn’t put much on just enough to highlight her eyes and her lips. She sat down and noticed it was too early to get dressed. As it was only 3pm Keira decided to see what was on television. Her favourite movie, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton was on. As she was watching the movie, Bianca began to notice the similarities between her life at the moment and the movie. The one thing that was different and that she liked was the fact that she never won the date with the gorgeous multimillionaire actor. Orlando had asked Keira to go out and that was really important to Keira. The movie finished and Keira began to panic. An hour wasn’t enough time to get ready! She still had to get dressed, touch up her makeup and hair and make sure the hotel room was clean!
After Orlando had showered and was thoroughly happy with the way his hair had turned out it was only 4pm. He decided to go out for a walk, along the shopping strip, near his hotel. As he was strolling along the street he saw what he thought was the prettiest necklace. It was a white gold letter K with tiny diamantes on a white gold chain. Naturally Orlando only bought jewellery for his sister, Samantha, but seeing how beautiful it really was and her name didn’t start with a K he bought it for Keira. As the shop assistant finished packaging it he noticed the time. An hour wasn’t enough time to get ready! He sprinted back to the hotel to prepare for his dinner date with Keira.
After Keira was completely dressed, she noticed that she wasn’t wearing any jewellery. She tried on every necklace, bracelet and pair of earrings she owned but nothing seemed to compliment the dress. So Keira decided not to wear any jewellery, the less is more tactic!
Orlando walked down the corridor to Keira’s room at 7.30pm. He was wearing his navy jeans, and a dark blue button down shirt. He didn’t brush his hair seeing as Keira seemed to like it curly and he had a huge bulge in his pants, wear Keira’s necklace was. As he approached her door, his palms became clammy and his heart began to race.
“Keira can I let myself in?” Orlando heard a distant “Yeah” and entered her hotel room. Keira came out of her bathroom and Orlando’s jaw dropped. She was beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. He didn’t deserve to go out with an angel yet somehow God had blessed him.
“Keira, I mean, you look, um.” As Orlando blushed his ears turned red. Keira could see he really liked her outfit.
“Wow that good eh? You don’t scrub up to badly yourself!”
“Thank you, I have something for you. You probably noticed I am into necklaces. This is for you. It’s not big I just saw it and I thought you might like it.” Without hesitation Keira refused.
“I can’t accept it Orlando.”
“Keira, a) you haven’t even it yet and b) I want you to have it.” Orlando’s stubbornness kicking in, “I will be offended if you don’t take it.” He slid the box across the coffee table to her. As she caught it, she hesitantly looked at him and then opened the box. Inside was the most beautiful necklace she had ever seen. Orlando noticed how much she really liked it. Her face enlightened with happiness and delight.
“It’s beautiful Orlando. Thank you so very, very much.”
“So that means you’ll keep it?”
“”Well I wouldn’t want to offend you.” She said coyly. “It’s truly perfect. Could you please help me put it on?” She turned around as Orlando took the necklace and clipped it together. When she turned back around a curl fell across her face and Orlando tucked it neatly back into place. Again she felt the twinge.
“Thank you Orlando.” Keira hesitated and leant in towards Orlando. She kissed him on the cheek. He felt as if he was in heaven, even if for only 2 and half seconds, soaring because he was kissed by an angel.
Enjoy?

Chapter 8 A Dinner Date
As Keira got in the car again she asked Orlando where it was they were going. He replied by pulling her arm and spinning her so that she was pinned between his body and the passenger car door.
“Keira, I am a very stubborn person. You are not going to find out until we get there.” Again there was the husky voice that she hated to love, and as she felt his body move away from her own she twinged again.
Half an hour later they arrived at a beautiful Italian restaurant. The pair both ate pasta and chatted about everything and anything.
“Keira have I told you how beautiful, no stunning you look tonight?” The colour rose in Keira’s cheeks as he kept complete eye contact with her.
“Thank-you Bloom. You don’t scrub up to badly yourself. That was absolutely delicious.” As she leant under the table to grab her wallet from her bag she felt Orlando’s hand grab her arm.
“No, don’t even think about it.” She couldn’t believe how much of a gentleman he was. “As he paid for the dinner he spoke again, “Are you ready to go, we have to go to the next place.”
“And where would that be?” Keira smiled innocently as Orlando raised one eyebrow as if to say “Are we going to go through this again?” “Okay, fine, sorry!” Keira responded unhappy her attempted innocence wasn’t working on him.
Both Keira and Orlando left the restaurant and got back into the car. Orlando continued to drive further away from the hotel. They arrived at a nigh club called H²O. As they entered everyone was buying bikinis and boardies. The dance floor was covered in ankle deep water and had jets that sprayed water from the roof. There was a DJ churning out the latest hits and strobe lights as well.
“Keira, what colour bikini do you want?”
“Yellow please! This is so cool.”
After buying their swimmers the pair split up to get changed. They left their clothes in the allocated lockers and decided to meet back up on the dance floor, under the disco ball. Keira was wading through the water when she was grabbed from behind by a pair of muscular and unusually strong arms. She pretend to struggle to break free, knowing Orlando was just playing games with her, but then recognized a distinctive smell. Immediately Keira tensed, knowing that it wasn’t Orlando who had grabbed her. It was Ed. His grip was rough and violent. Keira kept noticing the differences between Orlando and Ed.
“Get off me you jerk!”
“I told you I’d be back. You love me and you can’t handle being away from me.” Ed released Keira and she turned around to be confronted by his left hand. As Ed slapped her Orlando saw the two struggling. He knew instantly that Keira was in trouble. It was as though he sensed it. He rushed over as fast as he could, lifting his legs high through the water to allow him to move faster. When he reached them he hardly used effort to remove Keira from the man. As soon as Ed saw Orlando he grew angry. Ed lifted his arm and punched Orlando across his face. Orlando laughed.
“What are you kidding me?” As soon as Ed heard him laugh his anger welled inside him. Orlando threw a punch straight across Ed’s jaw, to which he collapsed. Keira fell into Orlando’s arms. She stood up again and said,
“Ed, I don’t love you. I don’t think I ever did. Actually I know I never did. If you loved me, you wouldn’t have forced me to pretend to love you. You would have never hit me. Ed I have moved on with my life. It’s time you did too. My future doesn’t include you. Don’t you ever, ever come near me again. Goodbye Ed.” Keira turned away from her past. She looked at Orlando directly at spoke, “I am so sorry Orlando. I never meant for you to get hurt. I didn’t want you to find out this way.”
“Keira I am the one who should be sorry. I brought you here. If you would like, we can leave.”
“Please.”
The pair arrived back at the hotel and they were taking the elevator upstairs when Keira broke the silence.
“Orlando”
“Hmmmm” he was woken from his day dreaming,
“Do you mind spending the night in my room? I really don’t want to be alone right now.”
“Of course” The elevator doors opened and Keira let them both into her room. She went to the kitchen to fix them some drinks. Orlando was on the opposite side of the bar when she broke down into tears. He immediately went to her side. She left the drinks as Orlando helped her to the couch. Keira sat curled up in his arms.
“Would you like to talk about it?” Orlando questioned.

Chapter 9 A Guardian Angel
“I can’t believe how stupid I was Orlando. I let him hit me. I believed that he loved me, that if he hit me a little bit he would see the error in his ways.”
“Keira, you’re not stupid, just naïve. I can’t believe he hit you.” He looked at Keira but he couldn’t see that beautiful chirpy side he say earlier. All he could see was pain that he could never truly understand.
“Oh my god, Orlando. You’re bleeding.”
“Keira, I am fine. You are more important at the moment. It’s important that you are okay.” Keira didn’t listen as she walked into the bathroom. Orlando followed her. There she had pulled out a cloth and was holding it under the warm water.
“Sit.” She said and Orlando obeyed, sitting on the toilet lid as she cleaned the wounds on his cheek and knuckles. She began to confess to Orlando but never really finished. Her hands became wrinkled and the tears she had kept in for months began to flow freely. She felt Orlando lift her, and carry her to her bedroom. He laid her on the bed and kissed her tears away.
“Thank-you Orlando. I never did thank-you for tonight, for everything you did. I mean.” She was silenced by Orlando.
“Keira, two things. a) you’ll never have to thank me for anything I do and b) stop thinking about tonight’s events you need to rest.”
“Orlando, thank-you for being my guardian angel.” Orlando smiled. He tucked her into the sheets and turned away. Keira smiled remembering the beautiful necklace she was still wearing. Even if she never saw Orlando again Keira knew that she had the best time of her life this weekend. She would never forget it. Keira drifted off into a deep sleep and Orlando checked on her. He watched her, she was peaceful when she slept. To him it was beautiful.
Keira was woken by the rays of sunlight streaming in through the window. She noticed the empty space in her bed and dressed to find Orlando. When she noticed he wasn’t in her hotel room, she went to his hotel room. She let herself in to find Orlando still in bed. She lay down next to him, watching him sleep, watching his chest rise and fall, signaling to her he was still alive. Orlando’s eyes fluttered awake he was confronted by a beautiful sight. Two beautiful brown eyes full of compassion and love were watching him, he smiled.
“Good Morning Mr Bloom and how are we this morning?”
“Brilliant, but I think the question is how you are this morning?”
“Fine thank-you. Are you up for some breakfast?”
“Hell yeah, my stomach is growling! I’ll just get dressed.” Keira went out of the room to allow Orlando to get changed. As she was making breakfast Keira overheard Orlando on the telephone. She knew it was rude to listen in on other people’s conversations but she couldn’t resist hearing his cute British accent again.
“Elijah, you don’t understand mate. She’s beautiful. She’s everything I ever dreamed of. She’s pretty, funny, smart. Mate she’s gorgeous, she fell asleep in my arms mate, and she was just so angelic. I woke up and she was in my dreams, as well as in front of me this morning. And she’s got this dog, Charlie, who’s absolutely adorable, I reckon Maude and Sidi would get along great with Charlie. I’ve never felt like this before, Lij, I think I’m in love. Yes I know I have to tell her, but I don’t know when. I want o wait for the right place, the right time, everything has to be right, and at the moment it isn’t. she’s going through a fallout with a bastard of a boyfriend and I want everything to be perfect, just like her. I got to go, Lij you should smell this brekky she’s made. God it smells delicious. See ya Lij.”
Keira was grinning. He loved her! She couldn’t believe Orlando had felt like this. But why? She was no where near good enough for him. He could have any gorgeous girl he wanted but instead he picked frumpy little Bianca. Well, now that she knew he loved her it was time to see how much. She was going to play hard to get, way too hard to get. She would tease him, flirt extravagantly but always abide by the one female rule in life, You can look but don’t you touch!
Keira began to think about last night. Orlando paid for dinner, and her beautiful new bikini. He saved her from Ed and was nice enough to worry about her before himself. He was the perfect gentleman. The smell of pancakes wafted through Orlando’s hotel room as he walked into the kitchen.
“I think you got it wrong last night. You must be my guardian angel because you even know what my favourite type of breakfast is!”
“Lucky guess. Well actually it’s my favourite too. Hey Orlando, seeing as you took me out last night and paid for everything, you bought me dinner, a new bikini and a beautiful necklace I want to repay you. Especially since I wrecked the evening.”
“Keira you don’t have to repay anything, and I had a perfect night last night.”
“Well Orlando too bloody bad! I’m taking you out today. I know where I am taking you so you’ll just have to shut up and put up. Okay?”
“Alright. Why do I have a feeling this could be dangerous, especially if you’re going to drive.” Orlando smirked as Keira hit him with the tea towel.
