I thought it would be fun to start a Willabeth story. i'm still writing my other one though. This is basically Pirates 3 my way
Chapter one
Cold, hard raindrops pelted Elizabeth Swann's face as she sat in the same spot where she had once clung to Jack Sparrow's leg; that was the day that the Black Pearl was attacked by the Kraken, a dangerous sea monster controlled by Davy Jones, captin of the Flying Ducthman. It had also been the day that she had selfishly sent her friend to the grave. Jack's death had been four days ago, but in Elizabeth's mind, it felt like yesterday when she had handcuffed him. Tears started to fall down face as Elizabeth reminisced about that fateful evening. She cried because she had killed a friend. She cried because she realized that her life would never be the same. But most of all, she cried because she had betrayed the one man she loved and had lost his trust. Her world started falling apart after that night. Nothing was going right.
An obnoxious creak coming from the door that led to the area below deck caught Elizabeth’s attention. When she looked up, Will's head and was poking out. Her hand unconsciously ran across her cheek, brushing away the stray tears that were falling. She didn't want him to see her like this. He might get the wrong idea- again. With her luck, he might assume that she was crying because she was in love with Jack and had just realized that she would never see him again. Will might think that she didn't want to be with him anymore. She glanced up, but then turned her head away from where he was, pretending that she hadn't noticed him. As Elizabeth looked out to the ocean, she could feel Will's eyes on her. He was contemplating wether or not he should go over and talk to her. He finally made up his mind and slowly walked over to the area where Elizabeth was sitting. Will sat down next to her, but then instantly regretted it. What was he going to say to her?
There was so much tension between the couple. Everything had changed between them. Will wanted to work things out, but he knew it would end in a screaming match. Elizabeth had attempted to apologize when they were at Tia Dalma's shack a few days before, but Will didn't listen. It had upset her quite a bit, and Will soon found himself wanting to apologize to her. He just wanted their lives to go back to the way they used to be. Will turned to face her and opened his mouth to speak. But he shut it immeadietly. Realizing that he had to say something, he opened it again and spoke."Hey." Will greeted her quietly, breaking the silence.
"Hi," Elizabeth whispered. So many things had changed between the two. Everything had become extremley awkward.
"So, uh.. what are you thinking about?" Will wondered, noticing that she hadn't turned to face him.
"Nothing," Elizabeth replied, still looking out to the sea.
Liar! He thought immeadetly. You're thinking about Jack and how much you miss him. "So you're not thinking about anything or anyone?"
"Nope."
"Are you positive?"
"Yes!" Elizabeth whipped her head around to face him. "Why don't you trust me?"
"Why should I?" He asked bitterly.
He was right. Why should he trust her? "I-I'm so sorry Will" she told him after a few minutes, meaning every bit of the words she had just spoken. It was the truth. She was sorry about kissing Jack. She was sorry about everything she had done that had hurt him. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but looking back, she realized she had made the biggest mistake ever.
Will didn't respond. He wasn't ignoring her; he just didn't want to deal with the situation right now. It was confusing. He wanted to make things better, but at the same time, he didn’t. Part of him wanted to give in and tell her everything was going to be all right. But then there was a huge part of him that knew he shouldn't. Numerous thoughts raced through his mind, making it impossible to think clearly. The image of Elizbath wrapping her self around Jack made him want to call of the engagment. Then memories of happier times flooded his mind, which made him want to forgive Elizabeth. Deciding on what he thought would be his best response, he spoke.
"Do you even get why I'm mad at you Elizabeth? Do you honestly know how i feel?"
"Of cour-"
"No, Elizabeth! Don't talk, just listen," Will commanded, frustrated. "How would you feel if the person you love, who happens to be your fiance, turns around and kisses somebody else?"
Elizabeth didn't say a thing. She sat there, looking out to the blue-gray, Caribbean sea, thinking about what was just said. She shut her eyes, wanting to go back and redo everything that happened four days ago.
"I swear, the day you turned down Norrignton in front of everyone for me, the poor blacksmith, was possibly the best day of my life. And now this. What happened?" Will asked, looking up at her for the second time in their conversation. This time he really took a good look at her, and he was surprised to see what he saw. It was the first time that Will had spoken to Elizabeth since her last attempted apology, which was a few days ago. He didn't expect to see what he saw. Her eyes were closed, but when she opened them, they were slightly bloodshot. Her face was paler than usual and the pirate clothes she wore, along with her golden locks of hair, were drenched from the day's rain. Elizabeth looked miserable.
"I don't know" she responded moments later. It was barley more than a whisper, but will understood her perfectly, even above the crashing thunder and occasional strikes of lightning. "I acted on impulse and was stupid. I’m sorry. I’m really, really sorry Will." Elizabeth took his hand and gently held it between hers. "You may not believe this, but you still mean more to me than anyone will ever know."
Frustrated, Will yanked his hand away from hers and slammed it down on the step. "Saying you’re sorry won’t magically just make things better Elizabeth! Sorry isn’t always good enough! “ Will shouted in anger.
"Then would you mind telling me what is good enough!?" she yelled back at him, running down to below deck, leaving Will sitting in the pouring rain by himself.
Elizabeth's world might be falling apart, but that didn't mean Will's wasn't.
