So I think I've mentioned this a few times in other threads, about how I was trying to apply to go abroad for next year's school term. Well, I got into Florence, Italy!
I'm really excited..... I found out Thursday evening... the first time I had checked the mail this quarter, three envelopes from the school we in it. I think my stomach dropped and I was terribly nervous. It was basically like three years all over again, finding out whether I made a particular college or not. I opened mine knowing the letter only would either reject me completely, consider me as an alternate, or would recommend me as a candidate for Long Beach's selection process. All letters were super thin, so I was a bit worried. Anywho... I opened it and it told me that I had an excellent chance of going abroad to Italy- which to me meant a 90% of going. It completely made my year at that instant. I'm sorry of POTC3 was suppose to make my year or anyone elses, but this has got to top mine. I called my roommate and she wanted me to open hers immediately as she announced to her class that I got in... she also got in! And then she called my other roommate to find out whether I should open hers too. She also got in too! We all got the same letter, so at that point we couldn't compare to other letters. Apparently my roommate's class literally ran home to get their letters... originally we were suppose to find out on Friday.. so it was a bit of a surprise. It was also a surprise that I actually got in... only 20 spots for my entire class, heavily impacted.
The next day was even more dramatic, as the list was posted online and seeing who I was going to spend the next year with in a different country. It was really sad to learn that other friends didn't get into what they wanted and I knew that they were counting on going. Whenever I tried to reason as to why I got in and they didn't, it never made sense. I know about 75% of the group that is going to Italy and having two of my roommates helps a lot. All I can think about is just living there and how life is going to be like....
So, that's what I've been up to and studio life... final projects are due this Thursday, so I gotta go to studio now. If you guys have any suggestions as to what to do with my life in Europe, let me know. hee hee. I plan on traveling a lot next year, since I hear the program isn't as intense as it is here.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a year long program... I'm really excited about it. It's like I can't stop thinking about it. All these countries I want to visit.... the UK, Spain, France, Sweden, Germany, and of course Italy. I've never been to Europe, so it'll be interesting. Plus, there is another program going on in Denmark and a bunch of friends got in their too, so maybe we'll visit each other. Denmark was my second choice, but I chose Italy over Denmark because of the better sunny weather and to have more travel time. I think we want to meet up in Germany for Oktoberfest.... we're all well over the age limit in Europe.. ha ha.

Thanks again... I'm trying to juggle transitioning into going and trying to finish this quarter off as best as possible. It really sucks balancing them both. I've been listening to pop songs in Italian and I'm pretty close to downloading Italian podcasts... lol. I'm such a nerd. I was talking to a classmmate who had studied in Florence for 4 months earlier in her college career and she said the best time ever... especially since she found herself partying every weekend... lol. She's even gonna give me her contact info of the apartment that she rented out... apparently it's really close to the duomo and has a great view of the city. 6 bedrooms.... I just get excited thinking about living there.
Don't get me wrong, I've never been a college party girl... I've always been studious and my major doesn't allow me too. But after this intense design course I've almost completed, I just want to go out and enjoy life, do the things I've been not allowed to do this quarter... like playing tennis again. lol. I swear, I don't get to go to sleep every night before 2 AM or 4 AM, just because I have so much work to do in the class.

So another update... I got the official official letter from the headquarters of it all, and I'm officially going. I'm so excited. It's funny, cuz I told myself not to download the podcasts until I got in for sure, so that I wouldn't jinx it. ha ha. So I guess I am needed to attend a regional seminar, either in Fullerton (10 minutes from Disneyland... tempting, I know) or in Sonoma, near Napa. I think I'm going to Sonoma, just because for that day, it would be my brother's birthday and I would be a good sister if I went to see him . Also, my brother told me about how Conan O'Brien is coming to San Francisco that week to shoot his show. I almost freaked out when I heard about it... so I'm attempting to get tickets for that and so I'd have to miss class to go on that Friday... which is no biggie for Conan. hee hee.

Ha ha.... Yes!!! Procrastination is bliss!!!
I'm suppose to be moving materials, tools, and such into my studio at school. And I'm suppose to prep for my presentation on 7 World Trade Center for tomorrow. And then study for an architecture history quiz.... concept models for the skyscraper I'm suppose to design for the quarter... resume and cover letter assignment for my memo writing class. Too much on the brain, but it's do-able. hee hee.

SPRING BREAK!?! That was two weeks ago for me, so I shouldn't be angry. hee hee. Yet, I want it to be spring break right now. We ended winter quarter right before the break, so it was a nice spring break... no worries. I went to Disneyland with my roommates and 4 other friends. It was so much fun... I haven't been there with college friends, it was always with family or my brother. Ew. ha ha... j/k. I swear, we acted worse than some of the little kids there. My roommate got a stroller cut on her leg and I almost got my feet cut off by one them. It's intense...ha ha. I finally got to see Johnny on Pirates... he looks pretty realistic. I think Matterhorn might be my favorite ride yet... Indiana broke down twice, out of the three times we tried to ride it... lol. I think we lost our patience on the second day. lol.

My sister had spring break back in winter. I thought that was funny, but then again, she was the one sleeping in and I was the one getting up at 6 a.m. every morning. No school today! Hooplah! I went to DisneyWorld 8 years ago I believe. It might've been longer than that, but I remember it. It was wonderful. I rode Pirates and I remember wanting to ride it again, but mom and dad wouldn't let me. Space Mountain was awesome and so was Epcot. Ah man, there was an alien ride there that dad made me ride. I was scared to death of aliens, I was 8 and the lights went out and the "fake" alien was on the loose. But I didn't know it was fake! I was a stupid 8 year old! Good times at DisneyWorld.

Why would you have spring break in the winter? That's absurd. ha ha.
Continuing tangent.... Anyways... during that trip to Disneyland, my roommate, who is Pirate savy, was all hyped up to get up 5:45 AM to go to Disneyland. We were staying at my other friend's house who lives about an hour or so away. Let me tell you, after a few weeks of not sleeping, it was incredibly hard to get all 6 of us out the door at 7 AM. Same thing happened at the hotel the next day. The three of us that were soooo tired from school, couldn't get out of bed. It sucked. But we had a good time in the end. I remember being super scared of a lot of things at Disneyworld when I was young. Heck, I was a little terrified of Haunted Mansion last time I went, but I have a feeling they dumbed down the ride, so it's not as scary. And then there's the Snow White ride... I think once the witch(es) appeared, I was shielding myself in my friend's chest. ha ha. I'm such a dork.

Yeah! I have no idea why they had spring break in winter. Go figure.
I had breakfast with Pooh Bear when I went! It was so great! I loved Pooh Bear. Rabbit always made me laugh. Yes, the Pooh Bear gang were my homies. We went to Universal Sudios too. I rode Jaws and was terrorfied!! I thought I was gonna die! That was a horrible, horrible day. I remember Back to the Future. That was a fun ride. That's basiclly all I can remember. And the Dumbo ride! Sorry, had to mention Dumbo. I love old Dumbo! Haha.

The Dumbo ride is a classic. I never was into Pooh Bear. I don't know, maybe it was his old man voice. ha ha. I think they were intending for it to be soothing to children. I've only been to Universal Studios once... and I wasn't that impressed with it. I only liked the Jurassic Park ride... now that was intense. Disneyland is my favorite theme park. I heard Euro Disney isn't that great, so I might just skip that when I'm over there. I want to go the Disneyland in Japan. Now that one sounds neat.
