Keira Knightley was the star of the red carpet at the Oscars in a deep-claret taffeta silk gown designed by Vera Wang.
She has now offered this custom made dress to Oxfam to auction, with all proceeds going to support Oxfam's life-saving work in East Africa.
Knightley, who was nominated as Best Actress for Pride and Prejudice, said: "This is such an amazing dress and I am really pleased to be able to donate it to Oxfam.
"I have seen the TV reports on the horrendous drought in East Africa and I know how desperate things have become, so I am happy to be able to do something to help."
Bidding
The off-the-shoulder dress will be auctioned on eBay. Bidding will begin at 5pm on 21st April and end at 5pm on April 30th - all proceeds will go to Oxfam's East African Food crisis appeal.
Oxfam hope that this will raise thousands of pounds. If it sells for £5,000 this would be enough to provide food for 500 children for 30 days.
Paul Smith-Lomas, Oxfam's Director for East Africa said: "Millions of people across Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia and Tanzania are at risk of starvation in one of the harshest droughts the region has ever faced.
"Oxfam is helping over 500,000 people - carrying out food distributions, providing water and offering livelihoods support. Donations like this will help to fund this vital work." (itv.com)
if only i had lots of money - and a figure like Keira's i'd buy it in an instant.

I would too. But something tells me it wouldn't look half as good on me as it does on Keira. lol.

I would if I had the money! Even if I didn't look that great in it, the mean reason to bid for it is to help those in need in Africa.
