Orlando is in a group of actors who people want to see in the role of James Bond. Pierce Brosnan has not yet renewed his contract, and seems to be stalling in doing so, and so the role is rumoured to be open soon.
Also, amusingly enough, Keira has been rumoured for a long time now, to be a potential bond girl....along with Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson.
I don't know if anyone out there likes James Bond movies or anything, but I am not a big fan. HOWEVER, if Keira and Orlando were in it, I may change my mind.

Haha Keira against Britney and Jessica, i wonder who would get that role, hmm, maybe the only one that can act...
Oh what i would give to see a bond movie in which Orlando was bond and Keria was his bond girl..

I think ti would be a smart move. It would bring a whole new fan base to the James Bond movies.

it would be so good to see orlando and keira in another movie together - but i think i remember keira saying that she definantly isn't going to be a bond girl who runs around in a bikini - and i really hoped that hugh jackman would be the next bond

Got this off some website that I forgot to write down the addy to. >_<
March 22, 2004 - The Daily Star reveals that Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom is now the frontrunner to someday replace Pierce Brosnan as the next big-screen James Bond. The British tabloid claims the Bond producers "have lined up meetings to get their man. A spokesman for Orlando, 27, said that 'no decision has been made' about him taking the role. But a source said: 'They are pulling out all the stops to get him'".
The Star report (no Clinton jokes, please) says the filmmakers "want to move away from the traditional image of James Bond – the older, suave gentleman – and believe a younger, trendier actor will attract new fans."
But the IMDb is reporting (via WENN) that Pierce Brosnan will return for the next Bond film. Citing a report in The Daily Star (there they go again), "bosses deliberately leaked plans to gauge the response from the movie-going public – and were inundated with appeals not to ditch Brosnan. An un-named MGM executive tells the newspaper, 'We didn't realize what an army of supporters Pierce has. We got the message Pierce stays.'"
This report is echoed by the MI-6 fansite. Brosnan's cousin Ann O'Callaghan has reportedly said, "Pierce told me last year he was lined up to do at least one more, and possibly two, and this is still the case. No-one has sacked him, contrary to what the media has said."
MI-6 also reports that Aishwarya Rai is no longer in the running to co-star in Bond 21. "Six months ago I came to know that the filmmakers of Bond movies were looking for an Asian actress so I approached them through my agents," Rai said. "At that time the script was in the air and nothing was finalised. The script did not materialise so the role did not work out."
In related news, Brosnan advised The Associated Press that he knows nothing about rumors that Britney Spears would be the next Bond Girl but revealed that he'd like to see either Keira Knightley or Monica Belucci get the part.
Brosnan also says Bond 21 is plagued by "a certain sense of paralysis that has kind of blanketed production at the moment. The last Bond broke all records. They don't know what to do." He adds, though, that he'd reprise the role of 007 "if (the filmmakers) want to set sail with a fifth" film together.

I think for a british actress it would be such a huge honour to play a bond girl. I'd be suprised if Keira turned it down just because of women objectifiaction.
So does that mean i can still keep my fingers and toes croseed for an OB bond with his KK bond girl?
:looks hopeful:

Some of them are okay. I liked the one where there was a tank in ST. Petersberg...
I think i have reached the point in crazy fan status when i would go see anything that they were both in. Even if was the voices for teletubbies the movie, or something insane like that.
haha ;D

It seems that Orlando and the idea of taking Bond to his pre espionage days has been dropped with the news that Aussie actor (woot!) Eric Bana has been asked to play Bond in the upcoming Bond 21 film... However Eric has denied this.... But rumors about Keira as a Bond girl are still making the rounds

Yeah, I just got word this morning that Bana absolutley does not want the role, nor will he be taking it. *shrugs*
