Title: Sweet Kisses (also known as "The Trouble with Love.." - but thats an uncommon one! You all like Sweet Kisses more hehe!)
Rating: PG-13 for swearing, nothing more, maybe some sexually implied moments, but nothing strong.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the famous characters mentioned in this story, as much as I wish I did, lord, think of the things I could do with Orlando Bloom AND Johnny Depp. Anyway, I digress. Some characters however, such as Nick I do own, and these are pure creations due to my wondering (and slightly worrying) imagination.
Note: Updates will most probably be slow. The re draft is mainly seperating paragraphs and re writing bits of the story to make it easier to read (hahaha). However, there are some changes such as cutting out huge chunks I don't like, and adding new ones. Reviews are extremely appreciated as they mean I will work on it for you guys ;D as I love you all of course ^_^
Chapter 1
“Keira? Earth to Keira?”
Keira suddenly snapped out of her daydream as her brother talked to her. His hand was waving wildly in front of her face, which was gazing intently at the television but not really taking in what was happening on screen.
“I take it they haven’t called then?” he asked enquiringly. She shook her head answering his question without using words.
It had been two months since she had auditioned for Pirates of the Caribbean. The results of whether she had received the part or not, was meant to of been said three days ago.
“I’m going to go mad if I don’t find out Caleb! They said they would ring me on Tuesday. Hello, in case they haven’t realised, it is now Friday!”
She sighed angrily and wriggled about from where she was lazily stretched out on the family sofa.
Caleb looked at her slightly amused. He had never seen her this hooked up before, even when she had auditioned for ‘Bend it like Beckham.’ He shoved her legs aside and flopped down beside her on the sofa.
“What you watching?”
“Fellowship of the Ring."
“Again Keira?”
“It’s a good film!” She protested defiantly.
“More like you think Aragorn’s hot.”
“No!’ She replied quickly, but the shameful look she cast made her brother laugh knowingly and elbow her in the ribs. ‘Fine’ Keira admitted with a sheepish smile. ‘Aragorn is extremely hot and I would rather like to have his babies, but the film is good.’ She insisted, jabbing him playfully with her toe in order to distract his attention from Aragorn and how she would very much like to drag him into her bed.
Caleb raised his eyebrows exasperatedly, as a very unrealistic walking tree appeared on the screen. Keira caught his expression and laughed.
“Ok, I admit the trees look fake and it is not the best part of the movie. Look its Aragorn and Legolas. Yes you go Legolas, shoot the flipping orcs!”
Caleb stared at her amusedly and in slight disgust shook his head.
“Keira never let anyone else hear you say that, it’s the way you lose friends.”
Caleb watched his sister shoot him a blood-curdling glare and kick him somewhat harder than before in the thigh.
“Ouch!”
“Serves you right, leave me alone.’ She replied grumpily, turning back to the screen and then feeling her brother’s gaze on her, his eyebrows arched high she groaned audibly and smacked her forehead in dismay. ‘Mum, will you please tell your son to leave me be!” She shouted to her mother who was making tea in the kitchen, but now stood at the doorway looking at her two children kicking each other in a murderous fashion.
“What is it you two?’ She sighed, but in good nature, as she dried up some cups with a ragged tea towel. ‘For goodness sake Keira love, will you stop moaning? You have been doing nothing but all day.”
“She’s just moody because those cast people haven’t called.”
Keira’s mother Sharman came further into the room, bringing a waft of what was cooking with her and sat down in an armchair, still drying the mug repeatedly, finally turning her eyes to the screen.
“Oh love, are you watching that film again? Oh there’s the nice fella, I like him, what’s his name again, something weird, Argustis. No, that’s not it, Argona. No again, what is it? Arnold?”
“Aragorn mum,” Keira said rolling her eyes to the ceiling at her mother’s forgetfulness.
“Handsome young man he is,” her mum finished with a nod and then jumped up as some steam emerged into the living room. Keira nodded a bit too over enthusiastically in agreement, and her neck suddenly clicked making her let out a short gasp. She clutched her neck dramatically, although nobody noticed as Caleb was, well… Caleb, and her mother had made a sudden dash to the kitchen muttering obscenities as she went. This then ensued in a lot more obscenities and clattering about and then some more swearing, and then the shrill pierce of the smoke alarm, which could only mean one thing. Burnt dinner.
10 minutes later once the alarm had been safely turned off, her mother reseated in the armchair and the windows open to air the rooms (a frequent procedure in the Knightley household in case you were unsure), a man with brown her turning grey and twinkling eyes poked his head round the living room door, just as Keira hit Caleb over the head with a cushion. Will Knightley merely raised an eyebrow at his grown children and looked enquiringly at his wife.
Sharman rose to her feet to give her husband a kiss in greeting.
“Ignore them, our 17 year old daughter is abusing our even older son.”
“Nothing new then?”
Keira giggled at her father’s sarcasm. She could easily say that she loved her dad as much as her mum. He always made her smile when she was down, his eyes continuously sparkled in the light, which always seemed to give the impression he was up to mischief.
“Lord of the Rings again Keira?” He asked her, tutting at the television screen where Gandalf was yelling at a fire-breathing monster.
“Will people quit about the film? I like it ok?”
“More like the ranger…” Caleb started.
Keira ignored him and stubbornly looked at the screen blanking him and the entire family that remained crowded around her.
“Why’s the princess in a mood?” her father asked questioningly. “No reply from pirates?”
An answer didn’t come from Keira, and her father just shrugged his shoulders knowingly.
“I will take that as a no then?”
Still the room remained silent until Caleb broke it.
“Of course she’s had no reply otherwise Keira would be wetting herself.”
“Ah well...” Her dad started, winking at Caleb who had started to stretch noisily, “My princess never did have very good bladder control.”
Frustrated as the two began to howl with laughter, Keira tossed a cushion at her father’s frame and brutally kicked her brother in the side.
“Leave me alone!”
Her father grunted as he tried to contain himself, and soon wondered away into the corridor as he headed towards the kitchen. Keira who could never hold a grudge for long couldn’t help bursting into a smile as she heard her father mutter,
“Wonder what’s for tea…bloody starving. No good food at work they are all hung up on diets...honestly salad? For lunch?!”
Mustering a laugh, Keira tried to imagine her father’s reaction when he discovered whatever they were having for tea was in fact burnt. Instead she shared knowing glances with Caleb and then smothered her giggles into the pillow when the smoke alarm began to screech through the house for the second time that evening.
