with out further ado, i give you:
Rudy was a squirrel
Yes, a squirrel was he
And where did Rudy live?
Of course, in a tree!
Now Rudy was the brightest squirrel
That lived in the wood
And he often tried to show off
In any way he could
Then one day, Rudy was
Hanging in his tree
When he heard Bob the Bear muttering something about "The Great One"
And he thought, 'That must be me!'
So Rudy climbed down his tree
And stood in front of the big bear
He didn't even tremble as he said,
"I heard you muttering over there"
Bob looked down at Rudy
And he growled, "So?"
Rudy did shiver as replied,
"I am the one you are looking for!"
Bob's look was one of surprise
And it quickly turned into a smile
As he said with his foolish grin,
"So you've been here all the while?"
Rudy felt himself grow strong
As he replied,
"Of course, you fool!
Did you think that I would hide?"
Bob's eyes flashed
But he quickly hid his anger
As he replied,
"Of course not, Lord El Fangor!"
"So that's what they're calling me now?"
Thundered Rudy with in his voice, danger
"Tell them that it's Rudy!
Not this 'Lord El Fangor'!"
Bob laughed a loud, rude laugh
And Rudy's face was one of surprise
Bob said, his face turning red,
"I see the fear in your eyes
"You are not El Fangor,
King of all the bears
You are just a little squirrel
For whom nobody cares
"I have half a mind to eat you now
For you've committed treason
You've impersonated The Great One
Without any good reason"
"Oh please, oh Great Bob, please spare my life!"
Rudy cried out
"I swear I did not know!
I did not know what The Great One was all about!
"I'm sorry, I really truly am,
So please do not eat me
Please, oh merciful Bob of the Bears!
Please leave me be!"
"Have you learned your lesson?"
Bob the Bear did ask
"Oh yes," said Rudy
"Do not complete someone else's task
"Do not jump to conclusions
Or just assume what you do not know
Do not try to be someone else
For if you do, you're identity will show"
Bob pondered for a moment
And then said with a sigh,
"Well, Rudy the Squirrel,
I've decided to pass you by
"I will not eat you, not today
But you must promise me this
You will think less highly of yourself
That is my only wish"
Rudy promised, and the bear
Slowly did depart
Rudy really did try to be humble
But cockiness was in his heart
Rudy became less cocky,
But not by much
He did keep one promise though:
He never impersonated royalty and such
THE END!!!
so, children, todays lesson is: we can learn life lessons from squirrels. lol. well, you learn something new every day, right?
