What is it about the pairing of these two that makes people go crazy? Something about the power they could have if they were actually together is so alluring. Why do you like them together?

yeah, they are just so cute together, and neither of then denied an attraction to each other. If anything, they admitted it! Didn't Orlando say that kissing Keira was worth more than what he got paid for making PotC?

heres some quotes by them!
Lizo: Come on - what's it like, give us a bit of detail. Keira: Give us a bit of detail?! He kissed, I kissed, the sun set, it's all very romantic, we have fabulous clothes, he had a big feather in his hair and it's all good. Lizo: How long did it take to film that scene? Did you keep on having to do extra takes just to make sure you got it absolutely spot on? Keira: Obviously we had to get the feel of the kiss completely right so we did it six or seven times, it took several hours, lovely!
Although there is a passionate romance between your character and Orlando's going on, the two of you don't have a lot of scenes together. What did you do to make sure there was chemistry between the two of you on screen? Keira: 'Orlando and I went on a date when we found out we were in Pirates together. Just to get to know each other really. Because this is about a couple who are willing to die for each other. We talked all night and drank tea. It clicked right away, so there was chemistry. Otherwise we'd have to fake it, laugh.'
Speaking ahead of the release of Pirates of the Caribbean, at a press conference in London’s Dorchester Hotel, Keira described the past two and a half years as ‘fantastic’, adding: "It’s really, really great to have the opportunity to do what we [co-star, Orlando Bloom] both want to do, especially working with people like Gore Verbinski, Jerry Bruckheimer and, of course, Johnny Depp.
Demi: "Keira is lucky because she had Orlando and Johnny as costars". Demi: "What about your other costar, Orlando Bloom?" Keira: "Not bad, having Orlando and Johnny Depp as costars." Demi: "Did you know Orlando before filming started?" Keira: "Funnily I did. We'd met at a few auditions. He is magnificent." Demi: "Of course he's told you all the gossip about filming The Lord of the Rings-The Return of the King?" Keira:"No he hasn't! On second thought, that's kinda rude (laughing). Wait till I see him next time!"
And working with Hollywood's newest hunk, Orlando Bloom, was no small potatoes either. "Very tough to kiss Orlando Bloom. Awful. I'm sure everybody feels very, very sorry for me," she says slyly. "Yeah, I maybe went around with rather a smug smile on my face all day. And possibly did it wrong a couple of times to do it again." -- etonline.com
What about working with Orlando? What makes him so attractive to young girls everywhere? (Laughs) I haven't got a clue! I mean, he's very fanciable. I think he's kind of got that androgynous, sort of boyish look. It's a terribly attractive boyish look, so he's sort of unthreatening to teenage girls, I suppose. But don't get me wrong! He's absolutely gorgeous. And he's got great hair. So was he fun to kiss? He was lovely to kiss. We did a bunch of takes and I could easily have kept going. Yeah, he's a really good kisser. -- imdb.com
UGO: How did you prepare for the kiss with Orlando at the end? KK: A lot of studying. Yes, I went around kissing every boy that I could find. UGO: Are you shy on-camera, or does it come naturally to kiss Orlando on-camera? KK: I think it comes naturally to kiss Orlando anywhere. I had no trouble with kissing him on-camera. He's a good-looking boy, why not? UGO: How many takes? KK: That took quite a lot of time, that scene, actually. [Whispers] We kept getting it wrong, isn't that weird? I don't know, maybe five to six, or four to five. UGO: How many takes were you willing to do? KK: Lots and lots and lots! UGO: How was your work with Orlando Bloom? KK: We met each other a couple of times before at auditions. He'd get the part or I'd get the part, but we've never worked together. But we'd go out to eat in London. On this film, however, we only worked on four scenes together. Every day he was on set, I was off. We really didn't spend a lot of time together until we shot the Carribean [scenes]. He's a really, really great guy, and he's a sweetheart. --- ugo.com
"I was the only girl around all these men," Knightley says of her Pirates experience. "But most of them were bearded and grubby... except for Or-lan-do," she says, rustling Bloom's name from her throat with all the Shakespearean longing of a hormone-addled Rosalind. -- Elle, July 2003
DJ: You’ve worked with Keira Knightley, a fairly fine woman. OB: Fairly fine, I’d say. She’s beautiful! -- BBC Interview
"We were filming our kiss, and someone brought her daughters to the set," [Keira] recalls. "I thought I was going to be lynched by a little blond mob." Might any good come from deflowering Bloom? "I can report that he's a very good kisser."
Graham: Does the director kind of say, “Oh, slip her a bit of tongue”, or do they just kind of play with your mind? Orlando: They just…it sort of depends. This is a Disney movie and I’m kissing Keira Knightley so it’s a nice big romantic wet kiss, but nothing too intense, but it sort of depends really, doesn’t it. I suppose it’s more a question of who you’re kissing as opposed to the director, coz the directors gonna go “Yeah sure, you can slip anything you like in!” (laughs) But the actors might have issues… Graham: William Cane tells us, one of the problems is: “Sometimes, a boy has a very long tongue.” Ladies in the audience thinking what’s the problem?! “Sometimes, a boy has a very long tongue, and it can make you feel like you can’t breathe.” That’s a problem. What to do? William tells us : “If his tongue is too long,” and I don’t know how much this book cost, but it’s cheap at any price, “If his tongue is too long, just push him back gently, and whisper Your tongue is too long.” Orlando: I wonder what Keira would’ve said. Sorry love, your tongue’s just too long.
-- Graham Norton
"Keira's beautiful," he says "I think I had a crush on her while we were filming, actually. We got on really well, but I got on really well with her boyfriend, too."
Spoilsport - what about snogging co-star Keira Knightly, then? Orli: "Er, that was acting! She’s a great kisser and absolutely gorgeous, so that made up for it."
"Kissing Keira was worth more than what I got paid for playing Will Turner." Orlando smiles, but dismisses the rumors about him and Knightley getting it on. "You journalists write so much rubbish... But she does look really good." -- Topp, Feb 2003
Rush, who had also worked on Ned Kelly, suggested Bloom, and Verbinski set up a dinner with him and Knightley. During the meal, Verbinski recalls, "I just kept looking at them across the table and thought, 'This could work.'" -- Time Europe
It's Bloom's innocent blacksmith, not Depp's sly buccaneer, who gets the girl, Keira Knightley (Bend It Like Beckham). "He has an amazing future ahead of him," she says of her co-star. "He's a very good-looking boy and a lovely person." Of their onscreen kiss, the 18-year-old boasts, "I'll be the envy of every teen girl." She maintains they kept the smooch "very professional, but we always had a giggle. He was kind enough to make sure he had mints and mouthwash beforehand. I have nothing but good things to say about the kiss." -- USA Today
“I think he’s arrived,” said co-star Keira Knightley, upon hearing the ruckus from inside the cinema. “It’s mental, Orlando is a one-man boy-band.” -- Empire Online
But the fighting skills she learned may have been useful; Knightley said fans on the movie set were more than a little envious of her kissing scene with co-star Orlando Bloom."There were teenage girls on the set and I actually feared for my life," Knightley said. "I thought 'I'm gonna leave and they're gonna kill me.' The evil stares that I was getting as I did it were just too much." -- Miami Herald
Knightley also got to spend a great deal of time working opposite Bloom, her love interest in the film. “To tell you the truth, before we started, I hadn’t even seen The Lord of the Rings,” she admits, when talking about her co-star. “I didn’t know his work, but we’d met a couple of times before in London, just auditioning, and either he hadn’t gotten the part, or I hadn’t gotten the part, or neither of us had gotten the part, and it just never happened. So, it was great to finally get the chance to work with him. He’s a lovely chap. What’s weird is that we had, like, four scenes together in the entire movie, and when I was on, he wasn’t, and vice versa, so we never really got to see that much of each other. I can’t wait to properly work with him again. -- FilmStew.com

Interesting read. OK (Yeah my fav' innuendo), this quote by Orlando: "Kissing Keira was worth more than what I got paid for playing Will Turner." Is truly disturbing (in a good way of course). I have never heard an Actor/ess say that! It really makes me wonder what would've happened had Keira not had her stupid bf at the time they were filming POTC. But..I am a dreamer. I also read in an interview posted on the site, "keiraonweb.com" that insinuated that Keira and Orlando used to get holed up in an English pub almost every night while in Carribean, since they got so home sick. Hmm... interested much? Ah... I am pathetic.

They wanted to get sloshed together, that way if anything happened they would have an excuse. Albeit a bad one, but an excuse none the less.
