Chapter Four
Amidst the tranquil sounds of breathless whispers and gentle kisses, the room was bathed in a sensual and romantic glow, the moonlight flittering through the blinds. The rain had finally given way to a clear, cloudless night sky, as the tiny hints of light danced across the room, its intimate glow settling upon the two tangled bodies upon the rather small bed.
“Keira…Wow…” Orlando chuckled quietly into the crook of her neck.
“Yeah…that was…”A soft giggle escaped her lips as she buried her crimson face into the pillow.
“Mm-Hmm.” He smiled, amused by how easy it was to still make Keira Knightley get flustered and embarrassed. His long, broad fingers slowly trailed invisible paths down her smooth shoulder, over the contours of her elbow to her wrist before finally settling upon the hand that lay beside her face. Rather than simply holding her hand, he allowed himself to continue his leisurely caress, her palm turning upward to allow him further exploration. His delicate fingers danced intimately across her warm palm, and a small contented sigh escaped her lips.
“Let’s not go back.” She whispered softly, as his fingers finally intertwined with her own.
“Hmm?”
“I’m serious…” She whispered whimsically, turning slightly to look him in the eyes. “Let’s just stay here…like this…forever…”
“Sounds tempting…” He brushed his lips against her shoulder. “I’m sure they’d come looking for us…Probably would beat us with big sticks…”
Keira raised an eyebrow suggestively, her finger running over his sculpted chest. “Big sticks huh?” She giggled, failing in a desperate attempt to remain serious.
“Shush Gutter Girl.” Orlando shook his head, curls brushing against Keira’s cheeks. He pulled her small body closer to his own, enjoying the peaceful moment of just holding her in his arms. They laid like that in thoughtful silence for quite sometime before Orlando broke it. “Would you really rather be with me that go back?”
She didn’t answer right away, quietly contemplating the seriousness of his question. “Yes…” She admitted softly. “I’d rather be with you than anywhere else…”
His lips lightly caressed her cheek. “Me too…”
Lifting her head from its comfortable place on his muscular chest, she looked him seriously in the eyes, silently studying what she found there. In the moonlight, his soulful orbs sparkled with something that had been missing for quite some time. His eyes revealed a man with new hope…He had been scarred, broken, distraught over the last year and a half, but despite all of that, he still loved her…of that she was certain.
Her fingers lightly touched his face, taking in every detail. She trailed across his jawbone, across his cheeks, placing a gentle kiss upon his knows. Her fingers traced over his eyebrows, his eyelids, before delicately caressing his sensual lips. “I’m sorry…” She whispered, tears springing to her brilliant brown eyes.
Quietly, wrapped his fingers around her smaller ones. “Don’t be…”
“I hurt you…” She bit her lip, biting back the tears as the realization that it had all been just as hard for him. She had walked out on him…twice. “I don’t deserve this.” She pulled back from his embrace, her bare back to him as she covered herself with the sheet.
“Keira…” He sat up, his muscular arms encircling her curled up body from behind, her back pressed against his bare chest. Again, neither of them said a word for the longest of times. He just held her, occasionally brushing his lips against her bare shoulder. For the second time that night, he broke the silence. “I forgive you.”
“What?” She whispered, an incredulous note entering her voice as he uttered the three words again, and she let out a deep breath she hadn’t realized she was holding.
“I forgive you under one condition…” His arms tightened around her, as hands took hold of his.
“What’s that?”
“You forgive me too…for everything…” He urged her to look him in the eyes. “And we don’t live in the past…We live for us, now and in the future…”
“That’s too conditions Bloom!” She chuckled, before gently pressing her lips to his. “I forgive you…”
“I love you…”
Keira turned in his arms, her eyes sparkling as she studied him. His curls were reckless, sticking out in every direction and he had the most gorgeous smile on his face. She let out an ‘I’m so in love with you’ sigh remnant of one of his classic ones, and shook her head. “I love you.”
Without another word, his lips were dancing gently with hers and they were falling back onto the small bed. Her mouth opened to his warm tongue and they collided with unrealized passion, their bodies tangling together. Whimpering slightly as Orlando kissed down her neck, Keira smiled slightly, puling his face to meet hers as she tried to wriggle out from under him.
“Na-uh.” He groaned, his fingers swirling down her hips. “Where you planning on going missy?”
“Mmm…Nowhere…” She giggled, kissing his chest and attempting to roll him over. He chuckled as she tried to roll him over, kissing his lips forcefully as she threw her body weight against his, sending him and the tableside alarm clock onto the cold, wooden floor with a resounding thud.
“Oops!” She giggled, as he stared at her in shock.
“Good way not to wake my parents.” He chuckled as her face turned a glowing shade of red, even in the darkened room.
“Oooo Orlando…They’re gonna hate me!” She whined innocently, pressing her forehead to his chest. “I’m corrupting their little boy…”
“You…corrupting me?” He chuckled. “If anything, they’re gonna kill me for corrupting little Miss Innocent Keira.”
“Sooo…” She whispered seductively, her hand trailing down his abdomen as she took note of their current position. Staring him in the eyes, she slowly settled her body on top of his, teasingly kissing his lips. His fingers laced through her hair, down the contours of her amazing back, settling low upon her hips. “Two earth shattering kisses in one night Baby…”
“Still a BIG dork.” Orlando chuckled. “And I love it.”
“It’s not my fault you have one heck of a small bed.” Keira giggled, as he pulled her towards him.
“Who needs a bed?” Orlando winked before crashing his lips back onto hers.
“Obviously…not…us.” She giggled breathlessly before getting completely lost in everything that was Orlando Bloom.
Three Months Later...
Closing her rather heavy eyes, Keira Knightley giggled softly to herself. In less than 24 hours, she would be wrapped up in Orlando Bloom’s arms in this very bed…and she was dizzy with anticipation. Thad been forced to go their separate ways for a while, only grabbing random days together here and there.
Yet, tomorrow, just as she’d be celebrating her 23rd birthday, she’d be beginning a glorious week off in the English countryside. A week without interviews or press or concerts. A week with only him. In fact, if it was up to her, she’d spend the next week of her life cuddled up in bed with the only person who completed every ounce of her being.
Reaching over to her nightstand, her fingers settled upon her cell phone, almost willing it to vibrate. Lifting it to her, she flipped it open, her fingers trailing across the buttons, bringing the cursor to the one voice she wanted to hear. Granted, he’d be there tomorrow. Yet, tomorrow just couldn’t seem to get there quick enough.
Fumbling with his excessive amounts of bags, Orlando chuckled at the vibrating sensation that rumbled against his chest. It was well after 2am, and he had no doubt who was on the other line. Tossing his bags to the ground, his free hand quickly flew to his pocket and with one swift motion, the phone was at his ear, and her tired, husky “Hi” was floating across his eardrums.
“Hey…” He cooed back in an equally sexy voice.
She sighed softly, content to just hear him…over the phone. Biting her lip as she rolled on to her side, tucking one arm innocently under her head, she giggled softly, a playful note floating through her tone. “So whatcha wearin’?”
Chuckling softly, he shook his gentle curls, running his fingers along the cool metal doorknob of the door he stood in front of. He bit his lip softly, imagining her doing the same while lying tangled up in her sheets, probably wearing a pair of low-riding sweatpants and a tank top that would be riding up slightly to reveal her perfectly tanned and toned tummy. “Jeans…and a T-shirt…a leather jacket…”
“Mmm…too much clothes.” She giggled, failing in her attempts to sound seductive. “I’m not wearing a thing.”
He chuckled to himself, leaning his back against the cool wooden door. This was just too much fun. “If you’re really not wearing anything, come downstairs and open the front door for me…”
“What?!” She asked, immediately bolting upright in bed and glancing out the window towards the street. The streetlights danced across the pavement, but there was no visible sign of him…No car, no bags, no hair…
“I know you’re looking out the window.” He grinned to himself. “So come let me in…and you better not be wearing anything…like you promised…”
“Orlando…” She giggled softly, slipping on her robe and making her way quietly down the stairs. Practically jumping off the last few steps, she stood on tiptoes to peek through the tiny hole in the door, for any sign of a mean prank. Her eye was immediately met with darkness, and without reservation, she flung the door open, coming face to face with the most glorious sight she had seen in weeks.
His hair hung heavily, due to the humidity and his leather jacket had been dropped amongst his bags, revealing his muscular upper body clad in the T-Shirt that he had worn so many times before. A huge grin consumed his tired features as he took in the sight of her.
Her now vague highlights blended into her dirty blonde color hair that hung loosely around her face, obviously tousled from stirring upon a pillow. Her robe appeared to be almost sheer in the moonlight, and although she was obviously clothed underneath, he bit his lip at the sight of her curved body standing before him.
“Happy Birthday.” He whispered softly, his eyes locking onto hers in the most sensual of ways.
“What are you doing here?” She asked, the shock evident in her eyes and her playful innocence.
“I had to be the first to give you a birthday present…”
Biting her lip, an innocent yet sexy gleam entered her eye as she spoke the next words with the confidence of a goddess. “If we go upstairs, you can give it to me all night long…”
“Keira!!!” He smiled playfully, bringing his hand to his chest in mock disgust as she giggled contagiously, pulling him into the house with his bags in tow. Her hands settled on to the back of his neck as she pulled him into a tight hug, her lips lingering in the nape of his neck as he held her to him. “Happy Birthday to the most wonderful girlfriend in the world.”
“So where’s my present?” Keira giggled against his ear. “Pleeeeaseee!”
“Its here somewhere.” Orlando grinned, gesturing to the sea of bags around his feet and his own body. “If you find it, you can have it right now.”
“Orlando…” She whined softly, her fingers now tracing gentle patterns along his T-shirted back. Leaning forward, her lips danced across his neck, her tongue trailing the same pattern her hands were making and he let out a soft groan. Slipping her hands into his T-shirt, he chuckled through his desire-blurred vision, quickly realizing what she was trying to do.
“Love, if you keep that up…I might just have to take you upstairs and give you your other present…”
“I don’t want that one!” She protested, not realizing how bad that sounded until Orlando looked into her eyes, a sad puppy dog look crossing his gorgeous features. “I meant…Aww Orlando…I want that one too…Just after this one…”
“Shush…” He pressed his fingers to her lips. “It’s on my body somewhere…But you have to find it…”
“Maybe we should go upstairs then…” She purred seductively, dragging him to the stairs.
As they stumbled over furniture and a plethora of clothing that Keira had planned to pick up before he arrived, they laughed softly. Orlando smiled as Keira’s arms locked around his neck once again, quickly ridding him of his T-shirt in the darkness. “A strip search…” She giggled softly. Kissing his chest teasingly, she smiled against his warm skin, her hands traveling to the back pockets of his jeans. She slid her hands down into them, cupping his firm behind, but as far as her present went, she still remained empty-handed.
“Almost there…” He half whispered, half groaned as her fingers trailed across the waistband, running over his seductive trail of hair along his belly button. Her hands slid across the front of his jeans, and she couldn’t help but giggle.
“Is that my birthday present…or are you just happy to see me?”
“Mmm…maybe a little of both.” He groaned, feeling her small hand slip into his pocket to remove the small box. Fully slipping the box out of his pocket, her eyes flew to Orlando’s, questioning him in the darkness as he sat on the bed. Reaching over, he tugged the light on and watched her face light up brighter than the lamp as she revealed its contents.
“Orlando?!” Her eyes welled up with tears as she looked deep into his.
His lips settled upon hers, kissing her quickly. “Marry Me?”
She nodded and giggled, as he took the box from her hand and took out the small ring. Wiping the tears from her eyes quickly, she extended her hand to him and allowed him to slip the small ring over her finger.
He smiled, kissing her slowly and seductively, hinting at the possibility of more, as her hands trailed his chest. Pulling back, she admired him in the light provide by the small lamp, and a questioning look crossed her features as her eyes caught sight of her ring again.
Wordlessly, she shifted on top of him to get a better look, and as her eyes studied the platinum band covered in small flowered vines, accenting three pristine diamonds. Her mouth widened in shock as her fingers trailed over the ring, looking up at him, a silent conversation passing through their eyes.
“It’s the same one.” He whispered softly, chills shooting down his spine as her lips touched his.
“I can’t believe you.” She smiled at him, love reflecting in his eyes as she shook her head softly.
“I think Penny Rose almost had a heart attack of surprise when I told her why I wanted it.” He chuckled softly, as she kissed him again. She glanced toward her hand, again, admiring the ring she had worn so many times before as Elizabeth Swann’s engagement ring.
“I love you.” Shifting her position slightly, she tossed one leg over his lap, straddling him completely. She quickly discarded her own robe, slipping her arms tightly around his body. Leaning forward, she pressed her forehead to his, biting her lip as their breaths intermingled. She knew that once their lips touched, she’d undoubtedly be a goner, so she was trying to prolong this sweet torture for as long as possible.
Unable to hold back any longer, Orlando launched forward, his lips taking hers in a series of passion induced kisses. Gasping for air, Keira pulled back, allowing his lips to take a tour along her delicate neck.
Giggling softly as her fingers sifted through his silky hair and his hands traveled to places that she had longed for him to touch for weeks; she let a passion-drenched sigh escape her swollen lips. “So, about that other present…?”
