This is my first time writing a short fanfiction based on a song (and as you can see below, it's not very good)! But w/e, read and reply. The song I used is "Where Does it Hurt" sung by Alexz Johnson from the Instant Star Season 3 Soundtrack. Listen to it! :]
Disclaimer: I don't own Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Alexz Johnson, Instant Star, and Rupert Friend. This is merely a work of my imagination.
Her brown curls flowed down, her head resting on his chest. Their hearts danced to the same beat, the same exact rhythm. He glanced down at the worry on her face. Tears stained her pale cheeks that were once rosy pink life, but were now replaced with despair and regret. Her chest heaved up and down, and his arms tightened around her waist. He planted a kiss on her forehead, reassuring her.
"It'll be alright," Orlando tried. "It's gonna be okay," he whispered, hoping his words would soothe her.
"No, it's not going to! Don't you understand? No one knows about it except you! What do you think will happen when I finally break it to him? He'll leave me!" she bursted, tears once again filling her eyes. "I can't support a child all by myself!... I can't... I can't..." she muttered, feeling like the world was caving in on her. The feeling of reality's worst, the feeling when it all hits you, was just too much.
Silence filled the room, interrupted by a few whimpers here and there. The tension seemed to drown them in their own personal thoughts for what seemed like an eternity. His fingers moved slowly up and down her arm, blending in with the quiet, but never mentioning a word. Time went by and they just stayed like that, afraid of what to say next.
"I'll say it's mine..." Orlando finally whispered, casting a downwards glance towards her. "That is, if you want me to..."
Keira bit her lip, contemplating the thought. A bead of sweat worked it's way down the side of her smooth face. The idea was extremely inviting, and yet, also disastrous. She would lose Rupert if she took the offer, she was sure of that. No amount of persuading would make him change his mind once he had left. He was just like that, stubborn and not willing to bend. And if Keira's dream actually came true, although highly unlikely, but if it did, and he had wanted a child, he would be more than angry that she hid it from him. Also, the overwhelming fact that she actually pretended it was someone else's wouldn't help either. She would risk and lose, no matter which road she took. It was now between her lover and best friend.
"I think... I need to go... I have to-to.. think this through, by myself," she finally admitted, gathering her purse and coat, she walked to Orlando's door. A lonely tear rolled down her eye, unaccompanied by others for she had already shed far too many tears.
"I understand, tell me when you make your decision..." his voice trailed off as her hand reached his doorknob. It began to turn, but before she knew it, Orlando's hand was already atop hers. She looked up into his dark eyes, staring intently into her own. The look he was giving her made her heart lurch and beat faster.
"Keira, whatever you do, whomever you choose, I just want you to know.... I want you to know that I will always be there. I will always care for you, I'll do my best. Even if you're with Rupert or some other guy, I won't abandon you. When you need me, I'm just a phone call away. Keira, I'll never leave you, I just... want you to know that," he said, a look of pure love gleaming in his eyes.
She nodded and her mouth opened, but quickly shut with no response. Her eyes gave him one last glance, as if saying "thank you", before heading out into the pouring rain.

Where Does it Hurt
And for every endless midnight
There's a sky full of broken stars
And there'll always be a place for you
Inside my arms
Where does it hurt
There's a sky full of broken stars
And there'll always be a place for you
Inside my arms
Where does it hurt

There's a billion streets to walk down
In this city of broken hearts
But there'll always be a place for you
Inside my arms
Where does it hurt
In this city of broken hearts
But there'll always be a place for you
Inside my arms
Where does it hurt
