My entry! Enjoy!
The cold wind blew around Keira and she shivered in the black cloak that was the night
She pulled her knees up to her chin and wrapped her arms around her legs, her eyes were drawn to the stars in the sky and she fell back leaning on her garden wall.
After returning from the Caribbean Keira had felt more alone than ever; her only comfort being in the dead of the night with the silence and beauty of the night sky, her favourite place to be in the world was right here.
Not many people knew about her obsession with the night and the stars and that was the way she planned to keep it, except she hadn’t told the one person she could trust more than anyone else and yet it was the best thing she had ever done, she had never felt more peaceful than in this exact moment, knowing no-one knew, but in a strange way she felt lonely.
He watched her from his window; she looked cold but he didn’t want to disturb her, he had never seen someone look so far away but peaceful.
He propped an elbow up on his windowsill and opened the window slightly letting the cool air through, his brown curls blew in the wind and Orlando closed his eyes; Keira loved to be outside Orlando loved the feel of outside. He didn’t want her to be alone again, not after everything.
“Where are we going?” Keira asked gripping Orlando’s hand tighter as they walked down the street towards their destination Orlando grinned
“You’ll have to wait and see”
“I hate surprises”
“You’ll love this one” Orlando replied confidently
They arrived around 5 minutes later; laughing hysterically Orlando blind folded Keira and spun her around three times making Keira lose her bearings
“Orlando! This isn’t funny!”
He left her in the dark for a few seconds and Keira felt alone again
Orlando laughed at her grabbing her arm and pulling her round the corner
Suddenly everything was silent; in the dark of the night Orlando watched Keira shiver and hurried up with her surprise
He lit the candles and commanded Keira to remove her shoes and socks
“It’s sand” Keira frowned “Why is it sand?”
“You can remove your blindfold now” Orlando whispered huskily
His hands moved to her hair and undid the knot slowly and seductively
Keira gasped
In front of her was the most splendid sight she had ever seen in her life
A blanket had been laid on the sand a few stones holding the corners down, candles lit the perimeter and on the blanket was a picnic basket
“A midnight picnic?” Keira questioned Orlando stood behind her and whispered
“A midnight picnic”
Keira grinned and turned to face Orlando who immediately wrapped his arms around her waist
“Thank you” She whispered her forehead resting against his
Let him kiss me, let him kiss me, let him love me Keira thought
She wrapped her arms around his neck
Let her kiss me, let her kiss me, let her love me Orlando prayed
“You’re welcome” he whispered back and as he as about to close to gap between them Keira pulled back wrinkling her nose
“Uh…” Orlando stuttered
“It’s raining” Keira laughed; and as if on cue the heavens opened and it poured, the candles went out in seconds and Keira’s hair clung to her face
Orlando grinned
“I LOVE the feel of rain!”
“I love rain!” Keira agreed
She flung her arms out and spun round tipping her head back letting the rain cascade down her neck
Orlando grabbed her waist pulling her upright
“And I love you” he whispered shaking the rain from his hair
“You do?” Keira asked smiling
“I do”
“Good” Keira answered pulling away and running to the sea, she dived in leaving Orlando standing there in complete shock
Did she not hear me? I’ve fallen for her and she just said ‘good’ that’s not good.
“Hey! Are you coming in?” Keira called snapping him back to reality
Throwing all caution to the wind Orlando grinned and ran straight into the water
“ARGH! It’s freezing!” Orlando yelled shaking his head yet again
“I know” Keira added lying on her back letting the gentle waves take her wherever they wanted to
“Keira” Whispered Orlando swimming to where she was
“Yeah Or” she replied closing her eyes
“Keira, would you… I mean… could we… maybe… oh I dunno!” Orlando sighed
“Orlando I don’t want to be on my own anymore, will you be the guy I spend the rest of my life with?” She asked standing back up
“If you’ll let me” Orlando replied
They were too far out in the water now and they both started to swim back,, holding hands
“I’ve always wanted to be kissed in the rain” Keira hinted upon reaching shore
“Really?” Orlando asked coolly
“Yeah” She grinned and watched as Orlando picked the candles up and threw them into the picnic basket
“And have sex in the rain” Keira added trying so hard not to laugh
“Really?” Orlando asked his voice going all high pitched he coughed making his voice more manly “Really?” He asked again
Keira burst into fits of laughter stopping only to watch Orlando’s bewildered face and to breathe
She stopped after a few minutes and wandered over to Orlando
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to be kissed in the rain at midnight” She smiled pressing their foreheads together
“Me too” Orlando smiled back
“Although, I wouldn’t complain if it led to something else” She smiled cheekily
“Miss Knightley! What are you suggesting!?!” Orlando laughed slightly nudging her nose with his
“I’m suggesting you kiss me before that clock strikes 1” She whispered in complete seriousness
Orlando nodded and leant down to kiss her; their lips met slowly immediate electricity coursing through their bodies uniting them as one for now.
She was not alone
He was not alone
Her hands found his drenched hair and she untangled the mess lovingly.
As the clock chimed one Keira pulled back resting her hands on his shoulders
Orlando smiled at her
“That was exactly how I imagined it to be” Keira whispered still not opening her eyes
“My picnics ruined” Orlando pouted
“We can have our own picnic tonight” Keira opened her brown eyes and placed a loving kiss on his forehead “Quick!” She laughed running to pick up the picnic basket
Orlando grabbed the rug and threw it over the top of them refraining the water from getting them wetter than they already were
They ran back laughing at nothing until they reached Keira’s house
“Do you want to come in?” Keira asked opening her front door
“I’d love to” Orlando replied
They spent that night talking about their future and how they were going to spend tomorrow; their first real day as a couple.
Orlando sighed; Keira was still sat outside the night slowly enveloping her until she was just a head of brown curls, He took his dressing gown from the back of the door in their bedroom and made his way downstairs slinging the gown over his shoulder, he slid open the back door and silently crept outside.
Keira heard the grass move and turned around watching Orlando move towards her, he placed his dressing gown round her shoulders
“Why are you out here?” He whispered
“This is my haven” Keira replied truthfully
“On your own?”
“On my own” Keira nodded and sighed
“You never told me” Orlando said after seconds of silence
“I’ve never told anyone before, it’s a secret, you will keep it a secret won’t you Or?” she trailed off
“Keira” Orlando turned around pulling her legs into his lap he smiled at her
“Orlando” Keira replied smiling her eyes glistening knowing what was coming
“I love you Keira Knightley, and as the night sky as my witness I swear I will never tell another living soul about tonight and” He paused for breath
“I’m afraid it’s not raining so will a kiss at midnight be all right for you?”
Keira cocked her head pretending to think
“Urm… Oh go on then!” Keira laughed
Their lips met in another beautiful kiss just as perfect as the night sky before them
Keira returned the next night this time accompanied by her best friend, her boyfriend, her true love and she knew she would never feel alone again not as long as Orlando was around to always be right beside her, forever.
