Chapter Thirteen
Looking around the large restaurant Orlando couldn’t help but smile at the beauty surrounding him, from the beautiful decorations adorning the room, to the fine eveningwear that everyone had on. The producers of the movie had definitely gone all out to make this a memorable premire night for the cast. The party was already jumping, as the dance floor was already crowded and the delicious food was being passed around. Scanning the large room, Orlando noticed all his friends, except Keira.
It had been two months since they had left the island after filming wrapped. Keira and Orlando had seen eachother only a handful of times since he bid her goodbye in Domica. Each moment he spent with Keira, Orlando felt their love only growing stronger. Even though they were mostly apart, in many ways he thought that they were even stronger now than they ever were before.
They had been through so much on together, and the fact that they came out of it with their bond intact just proved to Orlando how strong they really were. He felt confident. The timing had been off for them last time, but now…now he was absolutely positive that it was right.
“Looking for someone Orlando?”
Turning around, Orlando came face to face with Naomie and her fiancé. He leaned over to place a light kiss on her cheek before stepping back to shake her fiancé’s hand.
“You two look great tonight, and I’m looking for Keira. You haven’t seen her have you?”
Naomie smiled widely at Orlando before replying.
“I think she’s on the balcony. Now come on baby, I wanna dance!”
Orlando couldn’t help but laugh at the way Naomie dragged the poor guy out onto the dance floor. They really were a beautiful couple. Turning around, he began to make his way through the restaurant and out onto the rooftop balcony. Opening the door and stepping outside, he was pleasantly surprised to feel that it wasn’t bitterly cold as he assumed it would be. It was actually pretty nice, considering it was mid November. He let his eyes roam over the balcony, and he felt the wind being knocked out of him as his eyes finally landed on Keira.
Orlando took the time to slowly drink in the perfect beauty before him. Her pale green floor length gown hugged her body perfectly, her hair was done in shoft curls, and she had on just light traces of makeup on her gorgeous face. She was absolutely without a doubt the most stunning creature he had ever laid eyes on. She was leaning against the railing, staring intently out into the city below, and after taking a deep breath, Orlando slowly began to make his way over towards her.
Keira was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t even realize Orlando was there until she felt him wrap his suit jacket around her shoulders. Looking up, she gave him a silent look of appreciation before they both turned back to focus to the view from the rooftop. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Keira slid her eyes over to take in the sight of him next to her. She took in the dark blue silk dress shirt that fit his upper body perfectly, his sexy curls that were blowing gently in the wind, before resting on his chiseled face. He was perfect…absolutely perfect.
Clearing her throat, she slid her eyes back to the city view before softly speaking.
“The view is beautiful isn’t it?”
Hearing her question, Orlando slowly turned his eyes to focus on her face, and the sight of her brought a tender smile to his face.
“I have never seen a more beautiful sight in my entire life.”
Looking up, Keira noticed the way Orlando was intensely staring at her, and she couldn’t stop the warmth from rising on her face. Only he could ever make her feel this way.
“It seems like it just started yesterday you know?”
“Yeah I know what you mean,” Orlando replied as he gently nodded his head. "Keira…”
“Orlando…”
They both immediately stopped and after they each nervously chuckled a few times, Keira spoke up.
“You go first.”
Talk about pressure! Orlando finally raised his eyes to hers, and after another slight pause he found his voice.
“I think you know by now just how important you are to me Keira, or at least I hope you do. For the past months, you have been my rock, my sounding board, my shoulder to lean on, and my best friend. I don’t know when or how or why, but my feelings for you started to change, and I don’t want you as just my friend anymore Keira. You remember when we first arrived to the Caribbean and you told me everything you wanted when you were only 17?”
Seeing her slightly nod her head, he continued.
“I want to be that person to you Keira. I want to be the one who celebrates in your highest highs, and who’s there to cry with you during your lowest lows. I want to be the one you go to bed next to each night and the one you wake up to each morning. I want to be everything you could ever need, and if you gave me the chance, I think I could. More than anything, I just want the chance to love you the way you deserved to be loved Keira.”
From the moment he began speaking, the tears began rapidly falling down Keira’s cheeks, but for the first time in a long time, these weren’t tears of sadness or despair. These were tears of utter and complete joy. Sniffling a few times, she managed to swallow the lump in her throat before she spoke.
“Ok how can I compete with all of that?”
Orlando laughed loudly at her comment and to Keira it was the most beautiful sound she had ever heard. Smiling tenderly at him, she spoke, in a voice so pure and true that it took Orlando’s breath away.
“You are everything to me…everything. And as each day passes, I realize more and more just how precious you are, and how truly blessed I am to have you in my life. You are so amazing, so beautiful, and just so damn irrestible.”
She let her eyes linger over his beautiful face for a few moments before finally whispering with all the emotion inside her.
“I love you Orlando Bloom.”
Hearing her declaration of love made Orlando’s heart burst with joy. He felt like the luckiest man alive, and deep down he knew he was. Her love was the most precious gift he would ever receive in life, and right then and there he made a silent vow to cherish it forever.
“I love you too Keira Knightley. More than life itself.”
The wide grin that immediately formed on her face made his heart leap again. They stood like that for what seemed like forever, simply staring at each other in complete and utter amazement.
“Sooo, now what?”
A familiar song could be heard from inside, and smiling tenderly, Orlando took a step forward and held out his hand.
“Dance with me?”
Keira immediately placed her hand in his, and as he brought her closer to his body, they slowly began to sway to the beautiful melody. “So tell me Mr. Bloom, I’m not going to have to fight off say..any actresses to keep you for myself, will I?”
Seeing the light smirk on her face and the lighthearted tone in her voice, Orlando knew that she was joking, but underneath that smile, he knew that Keira was still sensitive about the whole thing with Kate. Raising his hand, he lightly caressed her cheek, and forcing her to look in his eyes, he spoke with all the conviction inside of him.
“No one will ever come between us Keira. My heart belongs to you and you alone. It always has been yours, and it will always will be yours. You’re it for me Keira.”
Hearing his words, Keira let out a sight of relief and leaning forward she rested her head against his chest, letting the steady beating of his heart wash over her. They danced in silence for several moments, but thinking of Keira’s question, Orlando realized he had some unanswered fears of his own.
“This isn’t going to be easy Keira. I mean, there are gonna be times apart from each other, not to mention tabloid rumors, and girls chasing after me. I just need to know…”
“I don’t care about any of that Orlando. All that matters is you and me. Hate to say it, but you’re stuck with me Bloom.”
Laughing loudly, Orlando rested his forehead against hers. Getting lost in her beautiful eyes, Orlando softly whispered.
“ I think I can deal with that.”
They continued to sway to the melody for a few more moments before a playful gleam entered Keira’s eyes. Licking her lips, she raised an eyebrow before speaking.
“I just have one thing to say to you Orlando.”
“And what’s that?”
Pulling her head back, Keira gave Orlando a playful smirk before exclaiming, “Well are you going to kiss me or what?”
Closing his eyes and throwing his head back, Orlando released a deep throaty laugh. Opening his eyes he focused them on the beautiful girl in front of him. There was no one else like her in the world, and she was completely his.
“I thought you’d never ask Keira.”
Orlando closed the distance between them, and finally their lips met in a tender and emotion filled kiss. A sigh of pleasure escaped from Keira’s lips as she pulled Orlando closer to her body. She couldn’t get enough of him…she never would get enough of him. Wrapping her arms tightly around his neck, she simply surrendered herself to the wonderful feelings that Orlando’s kisses were creating inside of her.
Orlando's own emotions were raging inside of him as well. Holding this beautiful woman in his arms, he knew that this was it. Keira Knightley was the woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with. As their lips danced together, Orlando could only say a silent prayer of thanks to God for blessing him with such a rare and precious gift as her. Titling his head, he deepened the pressure of his lips against hers, and sighed in pleasure at how right this felt, and how right she felt in his arms. Nothing could ever come close to the feeling of having this woman in his arms.
Pairs of eyes had been intensely watching the entire scene, and as Keira and Orlando’s lips met, shouts of happiness were let out and high fives were exchanged. This had been so long overdue, but seeing the complete joy on Orlando and Keira’s faces, it had been worth it. All the heartache, and all the sadness had been worth it to get to this point.
“Woohoooo baby!”
Everyone turned to see Lee dancing around like a fool, with a look of complete satisfaction on his face.
“Geez Lee, I didn’t know you wanted Keira and Orlando together that much.” Naomie said as she looked strangely at Lee.
Lee simply smiled at Naomie before turning to Johnny and Mackenzie.
“Alright suckers, pay up…don’t keep me waiting.”
Johnny and Mackenzie shared a silent look before reluctantly pulling out their wallets and each placing a fifty-dollar bill in Lee’s outstretched hand. Lee quickly snatched the money, and while Johnny and Mackenzie could only groan in protest, Lee happily smelled the cold cash while trying hard to contain his excitement.
“Umm, what is going on here?”
Seeing Jack’s confused expression, Lee stuffed the money in his back pocket before replying.
“These two idiots thought that Orlando and Keira wouldn’t get together by premire, and I bet them that they would. And from the looks of it, I won, and am now one hundred bucks richer.”
As a horrified look crossed her face, Naomie lightly smacked Lee’s shoulder.
“I can’t believe you are trying to make money off of Keira and Orlando. How low can you get boy?”
“Naomie, money is money my dear. I plan on taking my girl out to a nice steak dinner when I get back home.”
Seeing Lee openly gloat was eating away at Johnny and Makenzie. Getting an idea, Johnny spoke up, as a wide smile crossed his face.
“Lee, how about another bet, double or nothing.”
“What did you have in mind?”
Knowing that he had him right where he wanted him, the smile on Johnny’s face only grew larger.
“Ok, well you were right about Orlando and Keira getting together, but let’s predict something bigger, say…an engagement? I bet fifty bucks that Orlando puts a ring on Keira’s finger in five years.”
Makenzie quickly cut in.
“Yeah this will be fun. I’m going to say 4 years.”
Rolling his eyes, Lee could only look disbelieving at the two men before him.
“Are you two stupid? How many times has Keira said she doesn’t want to be married before she’s thirty? I got this one in the bag. I’m going to go with eight years.”
Placing his hands on his hips, Jack could only stare at the three men in utter horror.
“I so cannot believe you three are doing this, trying to make money off of Keira and Orlando’s relationship. What kind of friends are you people? Can you believe this Naomie…Naomie?”
Turning his head, Jack’s eyes widened even more as he saw Naomie pull out a fifty from her own wallet.
“Naomie! What are you doing?”
A look of guilt flashed briefly over Naomie’s face, before she looked pleadingly at Jack.
“ Come on Jack! This is like taking candy from a baby. Look at Keira and Orlando, and then try to tell me that they are going to wait that long. I am going with three years. I have a really good feeling about this.”
Jack continued to look disappointed, and Naomie rushed to finish.
“Oh come on Jack. Look, I’ll buy Orlando and Keira a nice wedding gift with the money I take from these clowns.”
The cast mates looked at each other in silence for a few moments before bursting into hysterical laughter. It was moments like these that they were going to cherish for the rest of their lives.
Outside, Keira and Orlando were oblivious to it all. Even though the song ended and an upbeat one began, they continued to sway back and forth to the song while stealing kisses and exchanging countless “I love you’s”. They had wasted enough time already, and they silently vowed not to waste anymore. Tonight started the rest of their lives…together.
Pulling back slightly, Keira stared deeply into Orlando’s beautiful brown eyes. Placing a light kiss on his lips, she softly whispered.
“So…you’re all mine now?”
Grinning brightly, Orlando nodded his head.
“Yep, I’m all yours love. For as long as you want.”
“As long I want?” Keira asked as she raised her eyebrow suspiciously. “That might be dangerous Orlando. I might want to keep you are around for awhile.”
Chuckling softly, he placed a few soft kisses on cheek and nose before staring deeply into her eyes.
“Tell me Miss Knightley, how long do you plan on keeping me around?”
Thinking about his question, Keira let Orlando’s entire being consume her. Feeling the sincerity in his smile, the compassion and love in his beautiful eyes, and the safety she felt in his strong arms, she knew. She knew without a doubt that she was meant to spend eternity in the arms of this man.
Lightly caressing his warm cheek with her fingertips, she leaned forward to place a soft and tender kiss on his lips. Pulling back just a few inches, she managed to whisper breathlessly against his lips.
“I was thinking about forever.”
Her breathless answer went straight to his heart, and closing his eyes, he fought to keep his composure. Opening his eyes, he placed his hands tenderly on her cheeks before resting his forehead against hers.
“That’s good…cause forever is what I’m planning on giving you.”
Their lips met once again in the most honest and emotional kiss either of them had ever experienced. They both knew, with everything inside of them…that this was it. This was their ‘meant to be’. There was no doubt going to be hard times, but together they would be able to get though anything.
As long as they were together…things were going to work out just fine. They were in love, and when you've got love…that’s all that matters...
