okay, so i've decided that this is going to be a short fic. because i have a few ideas =] hehe.

June 2002

"'Key-ra Knightley'?" Orlando looked at Jerry in amusement. "Never heard of her."

"'Bend It Like Beckham'?" Jerry asked. "Ever seen it?"

Orlando shook his head.

"Oh, well, she's the best seventeen-year-old actress I've ever seen," Jerry explained.

"Whoa. Whoa. Stop for a sec. She's seventeen?"

Jerry shrugged. "Yeah. But she acts a lot older." When Orlando still looked doubtful, he added, "Just wait 'til you meet her. She's not gonna be what you expect."

"If she's just another lovestruck teenage fangirl around me, Jerry, I swear to God I will kill you," Orlando threatened.

Jerry just laughed. He went over to the door and yanked it open. He spoke to someone just beyond where Orlando could see. "Miss Knightley? Yes, if you could come on in..."

A very poised and, Orlando couldn't help but notice, very pretty young woman entered the room.

"'Ello!" she said cheerful as she extended her hand. "You must be Orlando."

He shook her hand and replied, "And you must be Key-ra."

She laughed a light, airy laugh. "Actually, it's pronounced 'Key-AIR-uh.'"

To his horror, he felt himself blush. "I'm so sorry," he apologized.

She waved his apology aside. "No need to apologize!" she said brightly. "Happens all the time! I actually had one person pronounce it 'Kayla'! Where they got Kayla from Keira, I'll never know..."

She laughed again, and he followed suit. He had a feeling he was going to like this girl.

ohhhh. i rly wish u would turn all ur drabbles into fanifics! i mean i get soooo into it. Then BAM its over, and im left wondering how the rest of the day goes. teehee.

"Sugar We're Going Down"
Segment 2

March 2003

"Thank you all soo much!" Keira was saying. It was three in the morning. Everyone was tired, but it was Keira's last day on set, and they had come to say goodbye.

Orlando gave Johnny the signal. Diving behind a huge pile of plastic gold, Johnny emerged seconds later holding an exceptionally large cake that read in pink icing: "HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY, KEIRA!"

Orlando caught Geoffrey's eye. They both broke into song, Geoffrey singing on pitch and Orlando singing loudly and off key.

"Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday, dear Keira
Happy birthday to you"

By the end, everyone was singing.

Keira, tears in her eyes, grabbed the person closest to her, which happened to be Orlando, and pulled him into a gut-wrenching hug.

"Thank you," she whispered in his ear.

He tightened his grip on her waist. "You're welcome," he whispered back.

Johnny cleared his throat loudly. Keira and Orlando quickly broke apart. Blushing furiously, Keira turned around, a new grin plastered on her face.

Orlando glared at Johnny, who shrugged and mouthed, "What?" Orlando rolled his eyes.

He pulled a small box out of his pocket. Johnny quickly scampered over to where his friend stood. "Isn't it a little early to propose?" Johnny muttered, grinning wickedly.

Orlando shot him another glare. "I'm not proposing, Johnny," he whispered back. "She's with that.... Jamie anyways."

Johnny rolled his eyes. "Tell me something I don't know."

Orlando muttered something incomprehendable. Johnny crinkled his eyebrows in confusion. Checking to make sure no one was listening, Orlando leaned in and whispered, "I'm in love with Keira."

Johnny's face broke into a smile. "I said something I don't know, Bloom."

Grinning foolishly, Orlando asked, "Is it that obvious?"

"What's that?" Keira asked curiously, pointing to the box in Orlando's hand.

He presented it to her. "For you. Happy birthday."

She eagerly ripped off the wrapping paper, opened the box, and gasped.

"Oh, Or!" she gushed. "I love them!"

Johnny peered curiously into the box over Keira's shoulder. Orlando had gotten her silver skull-and-crossbones earrings. He shook his head. This kid couldn't be more obvious.

"Thank you!" Keira squealed.

Orlando shrugged. "You're welcome." Pause. "You deserve... er... nice things."

Keira pulled him into another gut-wrenching hug. He never wanted to let her go. Ever.

April 2004

It's tearin' up my heart when I'm with you
But when we are apart I feel it too

Orlando pounced on his cell phone. The stupid thing had woken him up from a wonderful dream where he had a Kate-free life and Keira had realized her love for him.

He checked his clock. It was three in the morning. This had better be good.

He whipped open his phone. "Hullo?"

"Orlando?" Whoa. He pinched himself. He wasn't still dreaming; maybe his dream was coming true.

"Keira?" he asked back.

"Yeah, it's me." Her voice was barely louder than a whisper, and hoarse, almost like she had been crying.

He sat up in his bed. "Keira, is everything okay?"

"Ye-" she started to say, but changed her answer halfway through. "No." He could tell she was crying now.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his voice thick with concern. "Keira, tell me."

She paused for a few seonds before she wailed, "J-Jamie b-broke up with m-me!"

"Aww, Keira, no," he trilled symphathetically. "Are you at your apartment here in London?"

"Mmm-hmm," she gasped through her tears.

"I'm coming over there," he declared as he got out of bed and started to get dressed.

"No, really, you don't have to," Keira sobbed.

Orlando held the phone on his shoulder with his chin while he put his pants on. "I know I don't have to, Keir. But I want to."

"Really?" she sniffed.

He chuckled. "Really. I'll be over in ten."

"Don't hang up," Keira said quickly. "Please? I don't want to be alone."

"I won't hang up." he assured her as he grabbed his keys and walked out the door, locking it behind him. "I promise."

Orlando got into his car and started the ignition.

"You still there?" Keira asked as Orlando began to drive.

"Yeah," he yawned.

"Oh my God, did I wake you up?" She sounded worried.

"Well, yeah, but that's okay," Orlando said hastily. "I guess it's a good thing that I don't usually have dreams that include *NSYNC."

Keira giggled. "*NSYNC is your ringtone?"

"What?" he said offensively. "*NSYNC are the American Beatles!"

Keira giggled again. "I used to be a huge *NSYNC fan... when I was fourteen!"

"I just got in on the fad a little late is all," Orlando said, laughing.

Keira laughed too. By this time, he had arrived at her apartment complex. He pressed the button under C4.

"It's me," he said as a buzzing sound filled his ears.

He could hear her running down the stairs. Seconds later, the door swung open. A breathless Keira stood in the doorway, cell phone in hand.

She looked beautiful, despite her puffy red eyes and the pile on top of her head that was her hair. Streaks of mascara were on her cheeks.

He smiled at her, and she smiled weakly back.

"Should we hang up now?" she whispered.

"Well, you see," Orlando said, "I promised that I wouldn't. So you'll have to hang up first."

She laughed, then clicked her phone shut. He followed suit.

She took his hand and led him in. Her words came back to him. I don't want to be alone.

He gripped her hand more tightly as they headed up the stairs to her apartment. If he had his way, she'd never be alone again. He make sure of that.

August 2005

"And CUT!" Gore hollered. "...Okay... I think that's good. That's it for today, guys!"

"Finally!" Keira sighed, hauling herself off of the sand.

As soon as she had changed out of her costume, Orlando approached.

"Wanna go out for dinner?" he asked.

"Sure," she smiled.

"We can walk down the road to that burger joint," Orlando suggested. "If you want."

"That sounds lovely," Keira beamed.

They didn't know it, but two women who looked strangely familiar followed them down the road, about 100 yards behind them.

"Johnny, why are we doing this again?" Jack asked his companion, making sure his brown wig wasn't askew.

"I'm not Johnny, I'm Mindy, remember?" Johnny replied in a falsetto voice. "And you're not Jack, you're..."

"Gabrielle," Jack replied in his own falsetto.

"And Gabrielle is?"

"A sexy beast," Jack mumbled.

"That's right, Gabs! Now we have to follow them to ensure two things. One, that Orlando doesn't do anything completely and utterly stupid. Second, to help him by making Keira jealous, ensuring that she will fall madly in love with him and ride off into the sunset."

"But why?" Jack, aka Gabrielle, whined.

"Let me put it this way," Johnny/Mindy said. "There'll be a little more love in the world. Savvy?"

Jack/Gabrielle snickered. It just didn't sound right when a "girl" with an unusually high voice said "savvy."

Meanwhile, up ahead, Keira and Orlando were having a heated argument.

"You deserve someone better," Orlando was saying.

"You don't even know him!" Keira shouted back. "Don't you want me to be happy?"

"Well, yeah, but--"

"Well, Rupert makes me happy!"

Orlando sighed. He didn't want to fight any more. "I do want you to be happy, Keir. Even if that means... Rupert."

"Well, good!" Keira said as she stormed off.

A blonde came up to Orlando. "Not having some trouble in paradise, I hope?" she asked.

"JOHNNY?" Orlando asked incredulously.

"And you said this would work," a brunette who looked and sounded a lot like Jack Davenport retorted.

"What are you guys doing?" Orlando questioned.

"Trying to prevent you from doing anything stupid," Johnny said, yanking off his stilletto heels. "But seeing as we are starring at your bonny lass's retreating back, I have a sinking feeling that we have failed tremendously."

Normally he would have shot a comeback at Johnny, but right now he was too depressed. The woman he loved was walking away, and it seemed like there was nothing he could do to bring her back.

omg im finally updating! lol, but the updates are gonna come slower due to school. i have attempted to write at lunch, but... well... yeah, Kel knows what im talking about. the guys at our table have the completely wrong idea about... well, maybe another time then?

lol anyways heres my udate.

Segment 5

November 2006

"Will we ever see each other again?" he accidently said out loud.

"Why would we not see each other again?" Keira asked, tugging on her luggage that was stuck in the rack.

Orlando reached over to help her.

"Thanks," she gasped. "But anyway, Or, we're best friends, remember? I'm sure we'll see each other."

Keira's words stung him. We're best friends, remember? To him, that also meant that that's all she thought they would ever be.

He cleared his throat. "Yeah, of course. I was just... worried y'know? I mean, we'll both be busy... and you have Rupert..."

"Where does Rupert come into this?" Keira said angrily. "Please don't start this again, Or."

He stepped into the terminal, pulling his luggage behind him. "If he makes you happy..." he began.

"Yes, he does!" Keira broke in.

"...Then I'm happy," Orlando finished, tasting the lie in his mouth. As long as she was with Rupert, or anyone else for that matter, he could never be truly happy. But he did want her to be happy. Even if that meant he was miserable.

Suddenly, Keira stopped, turned to Orlando, and gave him a huge hug. "Thank you, Or," she whispered, then broke away. "You have no idea what that means to me."

He smiled weakly. "God, Keira, I'm gonna miss you."

Her eyes filled with tears. "I'm gonna miss you too, Or."

He gave her one last hug, then turned and walked away.

"More than you know," she whispered as she watched him fade into the crowd.

She wanted him to turn back one last time, one last look. But he didn't. A single tear slid down her cheek. He was really gone. Was this really goodbye?
