Made by Amy Disclaimer I do not own, know, or even have any sort of contact whatsoever with the persons mentioned in this fictional story. Rating PG - 13 just to be safe Synopsis This story is actually the movie all of the following characters are talking about in the fan fiction, Beautiful Disaster. CharactersKeegan ~ Keira Paige ~ Mary-Kate Haylie ~ Ashley Shawn ~ Hayden Jack ~ Heath Clay ~ Orlando Prof. Daly ~ Keifer Sutherland Teaser“That’s alright,” he answered, scrolling down the page that popped up. “This will give us a place to start with anyway.” Suddenly the lights flickered and all power went out. A rumble shook the building. “CUT! Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me!” Gary jumped out of his chair. “Didn’t anyone hook up the generators? Come on people, we don’t have a lot of time here!” Gary barked out orders and people scattered. “Keira, Orlando, you two just stay there. We’ll get this thing up and running in no time.”
A brilliant flash of light lit up the entire room, and Keira shuddered as everything shook. “You alright?” Orlando asked softly. He took her hand and squeezed it. She nodded. “I don’t like thunderstorms.”
“I know love,” he soothed. “Just try to relax. It’ll be over soon.” Almost an hour later, the lights came back on with an electrical buzz and Gary hopped back behind the cameras.. “Alright, good to go. Orlando, take it from ‘That’s alright’…and, ACTION!”
Clay scanned the screen of the computer, biting his lip. Keegan tried to suppress a smile, and when it didn’t work, she ducked her head to hide her laughter. “CUT!”
“Sorry,” Orlando apologized though his own chuckling. “I forgot my line.”

"Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a ghost..." "No." "No what?" "There's no such things as ghosts." "Alright then. Goodnight." " No, I still want to hear the story." "Even though there's no such things as ghosts?" " Yes. Please go on."
She stepped out of the way just as a car sped past her, horn blaring. The puddle it tore through flew up in the air then came raining back down on her. “Lovely,” she muttered. “Just lovely.” Her soft English accent was lost in the wind, but someone giggled behind her and she turned. A tall girl with platinum blonde hair stood under an umbrella. “Aw, Keegan, sweetie. Maybe you should consider buying an umbrella. Or maybe a coat that was made this century!” She laughed to herself as she walked away. Keegan frowned, pulling her old Army coat tighter around her. She loved that coat. It held so many memories of her father in its down stuffing. There was no way she was ever going to get rid of it. She pulled off her sopping wet bucket hat and tried to squeeze it out. As her tangled golden brown hair fell in her face, she looked around the school campus. The rain and cold had driven most of the students inside, and she sighed. Reluctant steps brought her closer and closer to her prison, her dormitory. It was her first year at school, her first year away from her mother and baby sister. She had desperately wanted to take a year off to help her mother take care of six year old Cassandra, but her mother insisted she go to school. “Keegan, you’ll never get to follow your dream if you’re not taught the right steps to take to achieve it. Cassie and I will be fine. Go to that school in America like you wanted to.” After a time, she conceded, giving in to her mothers wishes. At first it seemed like the right decision. She had escaped the feelings of being a parent, caring for her little sister and her mother when she was sick, and fled to people her own age. It was strange to find solace in trivial things such as watching TV with others, and staying up all night just talking. But as the year wore on, she slowly began to feel alienated by her fellow students. Different life circumstances had forced her to grow up and mature much too fast, and her peers treated her as though she felt she was better than them. But that wasn’t the case at all. She just wanted to fit in like everyone else. With a discontented sigh, she splashed her way across the muddy street, and sloshed over the grassy front yard of her tall brick dormitory. She took the old cracked cement steps two at a time, yanked open the door and stood in the yellowish light of the main entrance. In the common room in front of her, she could hear a television set going and muffled talking. Knowing she wouldn’t care who was in there, she walked down the hallway and took three flights of stairs up to her floor. She could have easily taken the lift, but what was the point in that? The black metal door to her dorm room was closed and she could hear music being played loudly. Smiling to herself, Keegan turned the door knob and went in. “Sorry I’m late, Paige”
The girl before her jumped and gasped. “Keegan, you scared me.” Paige, her roommate and best friend, looked almost exactly like the girl Keegan had seen out in the rain, save the darker hair on her roommate. “I saw your lovely twin sister today,” Keegan reported, hanging her soaking wet jacket on the doorknob. She got a towel and put in on the floor beneath it to catch the drips. “I swear, I don’t know how the two of you could have come from the same egg.”
Paige rolled her eyes and flopped down on her messy bed. “Tell me about it. Did she give you a hard time again, or something?”
“Does Haylie know how to give anyone an easy time?” She smirked. “It’s alright. I’m getting used to it.”
“It shouldn’t be that way, though,” Paige argued. “Keegan, you used to be one of the most popular girls on the entire campus.” Keegan shrugged. “I seriously don’t understand what happened.”
“
Life happened.” She climbed up onto the top bunk of a set of bunk beds. No one used the bottom one, but it was always open in case someone needed another room to crash in for the night. When the semester had first started, the extra bed was hardly ever empty. But as the days passed, fewer people were eager to spend the night in the same room as Keegan. “Well, at least you have one good thing to look forward to,” Paige said, interrupting Keegan’s moment of reflection.
“I do?” She grabbed her pillow and hugged it, looking down at her roommate. “What’s that?”
Paige raised her eyebrows. “Remember? That big thrift store in town is opening this weekend!”
“Right! I nearly forgot about that!” Keegan and Paige had an addiction to used book stores, antique shops and any sort of thrift store. Almost all of the clothes that hung in the closet that belonged to Paige had been found during one of their many excursions into these stores. Both of them had old weathered books, tattered and dirty paintings, letters someone had given away for some reason, and jewelry to fill two dresser drawers. “Would you mind if Shawn met us for lunch?” Paige asked. “I know we said this would a trip for just us two, but he offered to pay.”
Keegan shrugged. “Who am I to turn down a free lunch?” There was a knock at the door and they both turned. “That’s probably him now. I swear, your boyfriend can tell when anyone anywhere even thinks about him.” Paige grinned and opened the door. Cloth covered spring snakes exploded in her face as a greeting.
“CUT!”
Mary-Kate scowled at Hayden. “That was not funny!’ She shoved him out of the doorway and tried to slam the door in his face, but one of the snakes was being squished to prevent it from happening. Hayden could be heard out in the hallway, howling in hysterics. When Mary-Kate finally got the door closed, she looked up at Keira on the top bunk. She had a hand over her mouth and her eyes danced. “Don’t you laugh,” Mary-Kate warned, a reluctant smile spreading on her lips. “That wasn’t funny.” Keira was quick to agree with a shake of her head. “Alright, that was funny, now let’s gat back to it. You alright Hayden? Good, places. Marker…and ACTION!”
*grins* thanks girls!
There was a knock at the door and they both turned. “That’s probably him now. I swear, your boyfriend can tell when anyone anywhere even thinks about him.” Paige grinned and opened the door. “Hey baby.”
“Hey.” Shawn Foxx bent to give Paige a kiss on the lips. When he straightened, he ran a hand over his curly blonde/brown hair and turned his blue eyes to Keegan. “Hey, Keeg.”
“Hi, Shawn. How are you?”
“I’m good.” He came in all the way and Paige closed the door behind him. “You coming to the movies with us tonight?”
“Ah, no. I’ve got a lot of homework to do tonight.”
“Oh, come on,” Paige begged, pulling on her coat. “That’s all you do is homework.”
“Well unlike some people, some of us have to work for scholarships to stay in school. We don’t have rich fathers.”
“Yeah,” Shawn concurred, playfully scowling at his girlfriend. “Shut up.” Keegan smiled. “You two go on ahead and have a good time.”
With a sigh, Paige nodded. “Alright. Love you.” “Love you too.” She watched her roommate open the door and leave, Shawn waving before he left. Keegan returned the wave with a small smile before the door closed and she was alone again. Linking her arms with Shawn, Paige fell into step beside him. They walked down the street close together, both under the slight protection of her umbrella. “I’m a little worried about Keegan,” she confessed after awhile. “She tries to act like everyone snubbing her isn’t bothering her, but I know it is. It’s obvious that it’s wearing on her.”
“I’m sure it is. She always seems so sad.” Shawn dropped an arm around Paige, pulling her closer for warmth. “She used to go out all the time, and not just with us.”
“I know. And now it’s like, all of her energy is channeled into school. I mean, not that it’s a bad thing, but being cooped up in a stuffy dorm room for a good portion of the school year can’t be good for her.”
“You guys are going to that big thrift store this weekend, though, right?” She nodded. “So that’s getting her out. Why not make a whole day of it? Go get your nails done, buy some clothes…you know all that gross girly stuff.” She giggled and poked him in the ribs. “I’m serious, Paige. Keegan is my friend too, and I think you’re right to be concerned.”
“What about lunch?”
“Yeah, we can still meet for lunch. Then you can go off together again.”
She stopped and grabbed the collar of his jacket, pulling his face close to hers. “Have I told you how wonderfully sweet you are?”
He shrugged. “Not today, no.” She grinned and kissed him. “Come on,” he laughed when she pulled away. The wind was beginning to pick up and throw needles of rain into their faces. “Let’s get to that theater before we drown.”
Keegan stood at the window and watched them go. When they left her field of vision, she let the curtain fall back across the window. Lacking the energy to climb to the top, she grabbed her pillow and the TV remote, and flopped down on the bottom bunk. She clicked on the TV and flicked through the channels, trying to find something interesting to watch. In the middle of her surfing, a knock came at the door. “Come in,” she called, not bothering to move. The door opened and heels clicked on the tile floor. “Where’s Paige?”
Keegan rolled over on her stomach, meeting the gaze of the girl who had made fun of her out in the rain earlier. Paige’s twin sister. “Hello Haylie. Nice to see you as well.” Haylie said nothing, only looked at her with obvious annoyance. So Keegan rolled back over and looked at the television. “She went to the movies with Shawn.”
“Her delinquent boyfriend…” Haylie mumbled. The door closed and Keegan thought she was alone, but she was surprised to see Haylie sit down on the edge of her sisters bed. “Come on in,” Keegan said under her breath. “What does she see in him?” Haylie asked. “He’s not even good looking.”
Propping herself up on one elbow, Keegan looked at the girl so unlike her roommate. “Shawn is a really great person, Haylie. He treats Paige like gold. If you gave her the time of day more often, you might see that.” She lay back down. “Besides, it isn’t always about looks.”
There was a disgusted sigh as Haylie stood. “Whatever.” Clicking heels and then the slam of a door. Keegan looked to make sure she was really alone this time. She was, much to her satisfaction. “Whatever,” she mimicked. The remote fell out of her hands and clattered on the floor, the back of it falling off and the batteries rolling on the floor. She groaned and watched as one of them disappeared under her bed. Deciding it was too much work to get up and fish through the dust bunnies to find the battery, she left things where they decided to rest and watched the program that was on.

Di, Amazing how you are incorporating the movie into fiction. Loving it! Call it the product of a sick mind. But I dig Keira, Mary Kate, Orlando... better than Keegan, Paige, Clay. Its pooboobubbly me. So never mind and carry on... I wanna see how it progresses...
